What a shame that this well-made and important documentary doesn't get more recognition here. Maybe it's because it's extremely painful to watch. But what else could you expect from this topic? Most painful for me were the parts in which the perspective of Eddie and his right wing supporters was captured. How ignorant and sadistic can you be? So this was hard to watch. It's like the title would not only refer to the line of morality of the soldiers, but also to the metaphorical line of not favouring one side in the presentation. Like it was narrated exactly from that line. I can appreciate that, even if it tortures me. It's important that both sides are told, even if it leads to the point where both sides get what they want out of it. You will see the world like you want to see it anyway. This way you invite at least everyone to the table. And truth and heart will push through.

Really well made.
The 7 is because I hate how the whole thing ended.
But true stories have to keep true.
Surely worth seeing.

A superbly made documentary but a tough watch.
Even though I was following the case when it went to trial, I still found parts of this infuriating.
Fuck
Eddie Gallagher, his family of sycophants and all the other racist psychopaths that end up in the US military, fuck Corey Scott, fuck Brian Ferguson, fuck Trump and his cronies, fuck Fox News and their viewers. This was a monumental failure of the US Navy command and prosecutors that allowed this to be turned into a mobster case by Trump and his cronies.
