The story itself could be so good, but the characters are bland and uninteresting.

I simply don't care if they live or die since they are neither lovable nor hateable...

Great titles, and ok reproduction of this story. The threat however was never really demonstrated for me to think of the kids as well that evil in this world where we generate our own to a higher degree. The kids did look and act spooky but I never really got invested in them, so after watching felt a bit of a waste. Go watch the film.

[SkyShowtime] Although it takes the title of the book as vindication of its origin, it's the adaptation that distances the most from the original story, constructing unnecessary subplots. This new generation is less scary and more easily manipulated, even empathizing with other characters. But what the series does not achieve is to offer a contemporary point of view of the social conflicts posed by the films.

The series is enjoyable but feels a little all over the place. Is this a warning against the collective? Is it about mental illness? Rape? Family? Abuse? Life in a small town? Government control? It feels like the the series wants to explore all of these topics but ends up with just too much going on.

Too be fair though, the book touched on many themes as well. Some tantalizing threads in the show every now and then. I like the ice cream metaphor. Curious to see if the show takes any liberties with the ending and how it all turns out

Have to agree with Marc Friedolin... the characters are bland and somewhat uninteresting... very hard to actually get interested in their lives. The kids are creepy and have terrible haircuts (bad wigs) so you know they are going to be trouble as they get older. That main girl with the bad wig looks like she could suck your soul out of your body.

Keely Hawes is the psychologist or something along that vein, but she's more of a bizy-body than anything else.

I'll keep watching it to see where it goes though.

So far 7.5/10

I am quite unhappy with the last episode. I feel that it is missing one more episode.
There is still this adult alien alive.... He'll do the same thing again !!! Paul Haynes should have killed him and the other soldiers !!
But hey, this series, holy molly ! The kids are SCARY ! Hannah is the scariest !! her glance, her haircut.... I'd hate to have a child looking at me like that everyday LOL
I congratulate the young and teen actors they did an awesome job :ok_hand:
Thanks for this version of Children of the Corn :stuck_out_tongue:
