I'm enjoying it so far (3 episodes in), but I want to rate it higher just because it's upsetting so many people that don't like shows about empowered women

@adashovelace That is, unfortunately, the norm, but especially so on Trakt. It's heavily male dominated with a certain 'nerdy' flavour. Certain stereotypically male TV shows will show support that seems unprobably high, and vice versa.

Something common here is that people watch one episode, decide they hate it, and rate the entire show down (rather than the episode) as a result. There will have been people who immediately jumped to giving this a 1/10 because they don't understand how a useful system works. I think that is mostly gender-neutral and happens on any show, just compare the rating of a new series with the ratings on the first few episodes. It's typical to see a 60/80 split, for example.

However, whenever there is is a woman featured as the prominent character on the poster, the series rating goes down. If they aren't conventionally attractive, the rating goes down. If the description features anything you could construe as strong-female-lead, the rating goes down. Most of all, if someone watches half the first episode and discover there's a joke directed at a man, an LGBT+ person exists, male actors predominately play side characters, etc, etc, etc then it suddenly because "woke shit" and that moron will rate it a 1/10, artificially deflating the rating due to incomprehensible bigotry.

This site has a lot of it. I have come across literal Nazis in the comments of pro-Nazi propaganda movies from the 30s, and the admins on the site don't do anything when it's reported, so having some way to counteract bigotry when it comes to a handful of shows that involve women or minorities is not something I see them attempting to address.

For me personally, I find it annoying that I can't get an idea of a show at first glance. The ratings don't mean much, good shows get buried, and the comments can be a cesspit. This show could genuinely be awful, but if embarrassing men are commenting about how triggered by wokeness they are, then how am I meant to tell?

Premise is interesting, character backstories too, i was very curious where will story go and i really wanted to empathise and love characters - but ... it is impossible :(
I understand anger in teens, frustration, rebellion against system, as adults we are powerless against ... many things.
But when you act as total asshole to everybody - it is weird that nobody helps you ...

reminds me Gandhi:
You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.

I feel very bad for people who suffered and were beaten or hurt (emotionally, physically ...) - but if you divide world on Trump (i see him as failed leader) supporters = middle aged + fat + angry versus enlightened + young + rebelious liberals it is not nice place.

So what is problem ? Most of main characters are horrible people, they have no responsibility, no empathy, they are selfish and for me it is unwatchable.

this is becoming a really woke and PC material through to our faces. It has polling on either side. At one time it takes extreme feminism on the other it takes extreme patriarchy. I'm not sure i like where this is going but if i remember correctly from some scenes of the future shown on the first episode, they will kill all men and capture make them work for them.

I mean they actually had a dialogoue where a man says to another man look at you you are bigger you have bigger hands you are stronger, you can beat the women, they are defenseless!!!

ok we get it, men are bad, women are good.

I agree with others... I sense a lot of hate against men in this, which is kinda sad. But it is still interesting to watch. I just wish it had more creativity in terms of abilities than just electricity. Then again, we're only a few episodes in, so it could evolve.

There has been a lot of hate against women throughout history, why aren't you (and men) protesting against that first?

[Prime Video] Although she sometimes struggles to find the right tone, the fidelity to the original book raises an interesting reflection on how a special gift that only women have can become the necessary imbalance to balance a predominantly patriarchal society. But what distinguishes it from other feminist narratives is that it does not evade the problems that having a special gift can entail. The control of violence as an instrument of parity within the human species can become a way to end misogynistic regimes or sex trafficking, but it can also lead to abuse of power by women.

I feel like this has taken it's time to go anywhere, unlike the book which got to the new world order rather faster. I can see that this is hoping to be renewed to carry on the story but if it's cancelled...

I get what it's trying to portray, but what's even the point? The best thing about this is the acting and other stuff too I'm sure.
