The comment section here tells a story.

Fun and insightful recommendation from the vaginarehabdoctor aka Dr. Janelle Howell! Highly recommend for anyone with a vulva or anyone whose partner has one.

Based on the trailer, I thought this show was going to explore the science of pleasure in all its forms.

But there was maybe 30 seconds of science in the first episode. The rest of the show talks exclusively about the sexual experiences of women.

Sexual pleasure is important, and women have some unique concerns and experiences worth discussing. But there are plenty of people who aren't women (almost half!) and plenty of forms of pleasure other than sexual. Would have been nice if the show was a little more inclusive, is all I'm saying.

I thought this was a documentary about pleasure, but instead, I saw obese black women blaming white men for their inability to orgasm, lesbians who know less about they bodies than the series claims men know and angry feminist being angry that men can orgasm. This was a big waste of time.

I thought this was all sorted out in 2022 but I guess every new generation requires encouragement and support and love, especially in the Instagram age.

A good watch targeted at women, which was not clear to me from the show description on Netflix (although here it clearly says "[...] celebrates the complex world of women's pleasure"). I can see from the comment section here that it wasn't clear for others either, and that was a problem for some.
In any case, it is educational and raises many good points that - despite the fact above - probably more men should see as well, perhaps to better understand the female point of view and what we experience. One needs an open mind for this for sure - it would be great if more shows like The Principles of Pleasure existed and everyone could talk openly about intimacy without shouting feminazi or crawling under a rock first.
