For someone who made Mad Men, this show is really subpar. Most of the stories are half baked and go nowhere. They are, at best, an attempt at storytelling, the way that they start and feel like they are going somewhere, but end abruptly in an unsatisfying manner, leaving the viewer quite puzzled at what it all meant or what was the writer tying to say.

Quite possibly the biggest waste of talent/money in the #PeakTV era.

Pretty good so far, I liked the 2nd episode better than the first. (especially the ending!)

I think congratulations are in order to Amazon for doing such a great job at advertising this show! 5 days after the release it has not even 900 watchers on trakt. What a joke when you take a look at the cast...

@waldner11 I liked the 2nd more too. The last 15 minutes or so were intense!

I think the show isn't very approachable for most audiences. Even if you like Mad Men, this is, surprisingly, totally different.

@joelbar Yeah, I agree, my issue is that no one is watching it because they're not even aware of it's existence. It's not like Jack Ryan who got a lot of advertising despite being pretty bad. I just don't understand what they are doing considering the budget that this show got.
To be fair I don't even really care we'll get 8 episodes not matter what and it's not like this kind of show would get a 2nd season so it's absolutely fine with me.

@waldner11 I didn't know about the budget, that's a lot... I guess they burned all of it on production? I didn't even know about the show before looking up what Weiner's next project is going to be. Didn't see any ad anywhere later either, so you're probably right.

But I do think the target audience is rather limited and slowly and surely it will find its audience. It's just not the kind of show you'd advertise on a huge billboard somewhere, or randomly on TV (only on good places).

@joelbar What's the budget? I didn't see it but I was certain it was very high (Weiner + all the stars +90 minutes episodes)
I'm not even talking about billboard or anything it's barely even showing on Amazon video prime page (you literally have to search for it)! It's treated like a throwaway project, it's very bizarre.

@waldner11 $70 million

Yeah... maybe after all episodes were released? Let's see what time does. Maybe it will be a sleeper hit... well, hopefully. Either way, it's nice Amazon even paid for it in the first place.

The episodes are hit or miss, but a few are really good. It's an anthology so consider skipping the low rated episodes.

Is Matthew Weiner the new Woody Allen?

Pretty irregular in general, the major flaw is that some of the chapters feel like they thought off an interesting approach to the story but couldn't be bothered to resolve it decently and just end halfway.
A pro is that they're independent episodes but a con is that you can't tell if it's good or terrible until you see the end, only then you can tell if it's good or just half done.
I particulary recommend the last one, the first three were quite good too, and maybe the fourth, the 5, 6 and 7.... uggg I can't even describe them

Two episodes in and it's quite good. Liked the second one better. It reminds me of Woody Allen movies. Which I think it's good but sometimes makes the series feel a bit too pretentious. Also, for a 1h plus episode they drag just a bit.
