8/10 for me a good show!
I have seen so many other environmental based shows and they all tend to fail and fall….
This one hits all the right buttons, doesn’t preach and is far more believable then anything else.
Each episode builds on the next and gives you just that little bit of suspense at the end of each episode to bring you back!
The effects are great 90% of the time and they cleverly used it subtly, without trying to over do it.

The idea on its own is very interesting, and I will definitely pick up the book. But the execution here is off. The show is mostly filler. If you watch the last 5 minutes of every episode, you will see almost all the interesting stuff.

It keeps adding and removing characters and then trying to make you care about characters it just introduced 5 minutes ago. It's only 8 episodes, but for half of the people in the last episode, I had no idea who they are or why they are there.

It should have focused more on the main 4, or even better, choose 2 and focus on them. If this was made as a 2-hour movie and had 2 main characters for the whole runtime, this would be much better.

The characters are also not the best. The story tries to have some character development [spoiler] (two have quite a big tragedy, but forget about it completely within 5 minutes) [/spoiler] but it falls very flat. They also should be "scientists" but they jump to conclusions so quickly without any reasoning, that they sound stupid half of the time. Maybe it is better in the book.

horrible took 45 min to get the the action and that you could see a mile way..... snooze fest

It’s bingeworthy but the kind of cheap production you’d expect to find churned out on Netflix.

Thought this show was gonna be in German with English subs but it's in English.

Saw the first 3 episodes today. Having read the book twice over the years and having listened to the audiobook I was a little bit underwhelmed. I found it much more sazisfying to listen to the book back then with different narrators. That turned into a movie in my head that I liked much better.
So...solid show but I guess it is better without knowing the source material.

Yeah, the whole section "Specials" here sure looks kind of strange. Truth is what someone wrote in the season 1 category. 8 episodes will be released in pairs on ZDF's online platform "Mediathek".

WfF do you all want from a show? This one is great entertainment. 8/10 here, too.

[Movistar+] Turns a reflection on man's intervention in nature, and especially in the essential oceans, into a kind of apocalyptic thriller that seems to have been written by the ChatGPT app, introducing the ingredients of inclusion, romantic relationships, suspense and ecological narrative to build a flimsy and structurally inconsistent story. Although the latest episodes make the thriller more consistent, the message is reduced to a failed attempt to create a pan-European product that everyone wants to like but in which the high budget does not shine, not even in the weak visual effects.

Still can't find this,the release date must be wrong.
