How on earth can this be related to The Witcher, with regards director, acting, storyline, production etc, basically everything. Quite simply…awful.

I’m sure I wasn’t alone in expecting something spectacular if a fan of The Witcher? Why didn’t they use the same people to make this show? How could they actually think this was worthy to be released?

Straight away you could tell there was something very wrong, something very disjointed in comparison to what we’d become accustomed to in The Witcher, it was blazingly obvious we were going to be sorely disappointed.

One of their biggest mistakes, one of many was one of the lead female characters, the warrior who had strangely laid down her violent ways to become a singing storyteller. Hey, maybe it could have worked if they’d casted someone who could act :woman_shrugging: But, even so her character was inconsistent, perhaps early menopause? One moment she’s soft and tender, next biting off heads to anyone who dared look at her. Her only saving Grace was her ability to sing, however, I was quickly bored with the dullest music and nonsensical lyrics, if anything they actually sent me to sleep. Why did they feel the need to have so many songs?

In fairness, it wasn’t simply the songs sending me off in to an afternoon nap, but the whole show. I was desperately fighting to remain awake and find out how this tied in to The Witcher, but one moment I was awake, the next, waking to find I’d missed 30 mins. I lost count of the times I had to rewind. My day turned in to torture from hitting the rewind button.

I could actually write a book if I wanted to list everything awful about this show, but I will not traumatise you further by reliving the events.

It may have been worth it, but alas no, there was nothing new or revolutionary, absolutely no information in the slightest we needed to know from watching this.

After watching a fantastic movie or TV show and becoming involved in our favourite characters, there’s nothing better than finding out about their origin story. However, in this instance, please do not watch this show, leave it entirely to your imagination.

Once again another off the mark series from Netflix. I have long given up my subscription but caught a little of this, at a motel, whilst of on holiday. Well, enough at least to know that I wont be watching more than the first episode.

The Witcher: Blood Origin seems more concerned, to me at least, with playing woke politics, rather than with its actual business, which is to be entertaining. A good cast can't save this series from coming across as shallow, motivated by something other than a desire to tell a compelling story.

In summary, yes, companies can push woke-ness all they like but the real question is, will people watch, will they pay for it? If I'm anything to go by the answers a resounding "no".

The only thing holding the "Original" Witcher series together were Jaskier, and Henry Cavill, the only 2 actors that were even remotely well casted, as for the rest, well...
Let alone the story, they went kinda off-board with the story as well, for no reason whatsoever..
Yes the games did this too, but that was probably because they wouldn't be too heavy on the narration, which might not have fit so well in a videogame.
There is no such excuse for a tv series however.

Now, you might think well, surely netflix must've learned at least SOMETHING of all the previous criqitue right? Surely, they'd hold on to their strong points and try to fix their mishaps right?

Wrong.

They decided to throw out the last goodwill they had, doubled down on everything they did wrong and so produced this vile amalgamation of a "show"
