The 80s was a tumultuous time for Britain; but at least it paved way for this television classic. Each episode is basically contained havoc, as the anarchic characters are let loose in an Absurdist world. The MTV origins of the show are quite clear in the constant references to musical culture and regular appearances of contemporary bands.

This was the first show ever shown on MTV, and paved the way for MTVs success. Strange as it was a BBC series, but made MTV famous as well as all the other British bands premiered their videos on MTV. Without this MTV wouldn’t have existed past the early 80’s.

A punk-comedy tour de force that introduced some of Britain's finest comedians, comedic actors. All that and Dexy's Midnight Runners, Madness, Motörhead, and The Damned too; there are other musical acts but they don't mean much to me.
Without this would we have got French & Saunders, Hale & Pace, Blackadder, Bottom, Filthy Rich & Catflap et Al?
Purely belter!
