It's the story that matters: how it's told, how it's interpreted and nothing else. The skin colour of the actors is just that, a colour. I've watched films with Jesus being interpreted by a white man with blue eyes, when Jesus was middle Eastern, with darker skin and most probably dark brown eyes. Still, if the story is good, that should not matter.

It is a great show, never gets too boring or too sexual or too packed up with blood and fights and it has the right amount of greek court politics and intrigues in it. It adds some gods and sides stories of the myth in the mix that we didn't get in previous movie productions and it takes more in consideration real historical facts and locations (considering its based on a myth). I don't mind seeing a black Achilles at all, in fact Im loving it. I hope in the future all tv shows do this stoic effort of making this Trump era society much more inclusive and diverse, this is how we show the generation a racial cohesive society can be achieved. And all of those of you hating about skin colours in Greek stories remember this is not history it's a myth, when we make movies about the Bible, Jesus it's always portrayed by a white man not with a middle eastern as it should be if we want to be accurate and we love it the same. Chill open your mind and enjoy.

absolutely woke. decent show based on how few shows are worth watching. in this version, Achilles is a black man which does not match the history of this story. Then, the big kicker, he is gay. I stopped watching after the here to eternity gay beach scene.

Coming from the perspective of someone who does not know much Greek mythology nor watches many period dramas (though the ending was obvious based on the title of the show and also I did know about the Trojan horse) - overall this show was very enjoyable. The last two episodes really elevated it but it was well paced the whole way through. I didn't like the character who played Helen unfortunately - she always had the same facial expressions and body language and didn't do as good a job as some other actors.

Loved the sets, costumes etc. I like little wee details like them baking sourdough bread. Really made me feel like I’m actually there. Something I wasn’t used to was how quickly certain implications were told, like quick 3-5s scenes - it helped move the stories really quick which is neither bad nor good, just too fast for me as I like to savour a good story. Only bad thing was something personal - I can’t believe people would let a lovesick lunatic go through with letting people die just cos he’s in love with someone. If I were Helen I would go back to Greece and sort my shit out myself and not let people die on my behalf. And I’ll slap Paris at the back of the head for using his love for me as an excuse to let hundreds die while he’s busy frolicking in bed and getting drunk and can’t even win a fight. He can’t even kill himself, Jesus Christ Paris truly is so utterly useless, it pisses me off and nearly ruined the whole show for me. How or why Helen fell for this hedonistic idiot is beyond me. Okay rant over

Super exciting good series the forbidden selfish love.
A lot of violence occurs.
Meaningless animal offering.
I leave and look further.
I would prefer that something like that does not appear in the series.
The fact is that it still exists with people who worship the gods and the devil.
That barbaric time was a salvation on earth.

This is an excellent series, very moving and as others have said just the right amount of everything, romance, violence etc. Scenery is very detailed and luscious and watching in 4k on Netflix really makes it come alive!

Tell you the truth, I didn't expect this, but I actually love the series. Honours so nicely Homer's main belief that the 12 gods fight each other, intervene with human lives, play with them and lead them to their destiny. An idea which allowed unbelievable deceptions, plots and twists, that gave us one of the world's greatest masterpieces of literature. OK, so I understand some are offended by black actors playing Zeus or Achilles (who are mythological creatures, a.k.a never existed to have some standard look). Well I'm not, I think it's an interesting choice. Especially for the Myrmidon race who, according to Greek Mythology, were ants that became people.

Very well done. Even knowing how it ends can’t ruin it
