The series was entertaining. Very Sherlock-like. Only the doctor is the smart one. The episodes are pretty long, longer than necessary, I think. But what's going on should keep you drawn in throughout the entirety of each one. It did for me. There isn't a bigger story as far as I could ascertain, so each episode is based on one case. Just in case that's something you'd prefer to know before watching it. But there's a lot of plot and information other than the murder cases that are present too. A lot of stuff happening in the mix of what's at the pivot. Probably one of the reasons the episodes are so long. I'd watch a second series/season. It caught my attention and never lost it. But I can understand why others may not feel the same way or feel strongly differently.

This is actually a really good show, i was hesitant watching it, since usually BBC2/3 shows lack in substance.

Not so in this case: The murder cases, although a bit transparent from todays perspective are interesting and there is a lot happening in the background which sometimes get woven in.

It does practice the despicable act of changing an actress though. I hate whenever a show pull this crap since I find it utterly insulting.
Do they think the viewer is too stupid to notice?

If an actress isn't available for a 2nd season:
a) Don't include her character
b) Think about setting up better contracts (Might mean that you have to pay them more though...)

As the previous review said - I agree with them. I still enjoyed S1 and am glad they renewed- I was expecting another decent New show to be cancelled. have to watch s2 to decide if it satys* stays on my worth watching list. It is quite slow and we lost some good characters , it has some odd plot points/characters so some wipl* will like this show, others will not. Expected to get mixed reviews - If S2 is decent them it will make it to atleast S3 before ending/cancelled.
