@dachinno to be fair, the series is about people - about human beings and their fate. The club is only a framework or a reason to tell those stories. I really like the way they did it- funny, there's sports and it is heartwarming after all. 8/10

PS: what bugged me even more is you watched quite a bunch of episodes, right. You saw these people, lower/middle-class, working folks, the pub owner, three generations of Wrexham fans visiting games and talking about it, more important BONDING and coming closer b/c of that etc…and if you just listened once (cause they said it a bunch of times): for these people - not only the players- soccer IS life. But if you did not get this basic message and that does not make you feel one way or another…maybe it is really better to continue binging a Marvel series or shit like that! Sorry

I haven't watched many, if any, of these sorta football documentaries, despite the sport literally and unequivocally being my favourite thing; away from film and television, of course! I've found the Amazon ones and the such to be cringey (I'm looking at you, Mikel Arteta) and, with respect, too American. Thankfully, 'Welcome to Wrexham' is the first that I've definitively enjoyed and viewed more than a few episodes.

It's a good blend between the football, i.e. Wrexham, and showbiz, i.e. Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Another thing I appreciate is the run time, with the episodes (at least as of S1 E5; time of review) being very short at around 25 minutes. Reynolds and McElhenney add humour and interest to it, and the constant looks around Wrexham as a club make each episode a top watch. In a word - recommended.

I wanna say that I was drawn to give this a try because of Ryan Reynolds and thought he’ll be in it a lot making this series a bit funny, but that didn’t happen so it’s a disappointment for me. I don’t want to watch the history of a barely professional football club… There are thousands out there with similar stories, and for the love of God, this is just a game, it’s not life.

"I don’t want to watch the history of a barely professional football club"<br /> <br /> ... though you have watched 11 of 11 episodes released so far. It might be time to update your review. :)

@dachinno Definition of documentary = using pictures or interviews with people involved in real events to provide a factual report on a particular subject.<br /> <br /> Key words = real events, factual report &amp; particular subject.<br /> <br /> "I don’t want to watch the history of a barely professional football club" - translation "I don’t want to see the FACTUAL REPORT of REAL EVENTS of a PARTICULAR SUBJECT"<br /> <br /> So don't watch, for the love of God, this is just a show, it’s not life. - oh, wait, remember them key words, it is life.....

I don't really care much about football. I occasionally play _FIFA_, but rarely watch it, except for some of the bigger events like the World Cup. So when I first saw trailers and ads for this, that _the Ryan Reynolds_ (and his friend ;) ) had bought a football team, I was like. Is this a joke?
I was reluctant at first to watch it, however, I decided to see what it was all about, since it was with Ryan Reynolds.
**I was not disappointed.**
I think it's a good docu-series, and as some mentioned, it's a series about people, and I started caring about a lot of the them. Both the players and the fans.
I got the feeling that both Rob and Ryan cares a lot for the club and the community and especially the last one is **SO** important for a club.

I hope they make a season 2 and that
Wrexham will be promoted to League Two after this 22/23 season!
The best of the recent football docs next to 'Sunderland til I die'. Just all about the fans, players and the club. Very heartwarming.

It is an interesting show to watch. Like everyone, I tuned in to see what Ryan Reynolds was doing owning a Welsh football club and it's an interesting story. Not compelling, but it has a very light take on their ownership and some interesting insights into a game so popular outside of the US that people are just fanatical about it. Hey, if my watching this earns more money for the show and that translates to more money for the team to get where they need to be, great.
