My main complaint from this drama isn't really the plot. As you can still have great k-dramas without complex plots. The thing that bothers me is the fact the characters are one dimensional (in addition to the simple plot). You can literally describe a lot of the characters in the drama in one word. I.e. You have a character who is the narcissist, one who who is loyal, one who is the klutz, another character who is frugal, and one who is lustful. There is very less character development in the show and the story is predictable.

It could be that I'm rating this a little low - but for 14 episodes I totally enjoyed with this sweet and fluffy romantic comedy. The last two episodes are where it faltered for me. Park Seo Joon (from Itaewon Class ..which i haven't completed watching yet ) was flawless here, and I can't complain about him in any way. And the comedy was gold. I wasn't disappointed with the final moments, but I would say that episodes 15 and 16 were pretty much completely filler material as they had run out of story and needed to stretch the time.
Again, PSJ can pretty much do no wrong in my eyes right now. He's pretty to look at, has good comedic timing, and his romance scenes were believable and tingle-inducing. Who else could make such an arrogant guy lovable and sweet? Park Min Young - started out really well. She looked sharp, had pretty smiles, and great bantering. But I wasn't always fully convinced of Mi So's affections towards Young Joon because of how PMY acted. Pyo Ye Jin as Ji Ah, was super cute, but she seems to have been typecast into similar roles now. I did enjoy her in this and hope to see her in more roles soon. Hwang Bo Ra as Bong Se Ra was a bit over the top in her comedy like she was trying way too hard. But both Ji Ah and Se Ra's office romances were very cute and fun to watch. Kang Ki Young did a great job in his role, playing Young Joon's employee and friend....but mostly his advice coach. Lee Tae Hwan, playing Young Joon's brother, was such a mild character that he was virtuously unnoticeable and fairly useless except as a plot device.

Despite the above shortcomings it is a good watch if you watching it casuallly inbetween other shows or work. The story was thin and didn't fill out the available time for the story, but because I was enjoying the romance it didn't become super obvious until the last couple of episodes. I enjoyed the banter and the comedy between the co-workers and the romance between Young Joon and Mi So. I found the sound effects hilarious and Mi So's side eye made me laugh every time. Although the secondary romances were fairly cute, there is little substance to this show, if I'm being perfectly honest. I am all up for fluffy and light when it comes to romantic comedies- so this fits that perfectly for that. If you expect a rom-com to be anything other than this, you will be disappointed and I wouldn't recommend it. I was happily entertained for the majority of the show, though, regardless of the plot. (I'm not difficult to please when it comes to rom-coms.)

What’s wrong with secretary Kim? is a South Korean drama broadcasted on tvN channel in 2018. It is the story of Lee Young-Joon (Park Seo-Joon), a young vice president, who cannot understand why his faithful secretary, Kim Mi-so (Park Min-young), has decided to resign.
In fact, the boy has a very particular personality, he is so focused on himself that call him egocentric would be little. Indeed, he takes the secretary’s abandonment as a personal matter. And try to prevent the woman from completing her project without taking into account her motivations.
As it often happens, when you know better a person and when you risk losing her, you understand her true value and behave accordingly hoping it’s not too late.

Lee Young-Joon (Park Seo-Joon) is the vice president of the Yoomyung Group in place of his brother who decided to become a writer. Self-confident to the point of believing he has a positive aura, he hides some very important psychological problems. These manifest themselves through the fear of women, he cannot even touch them, and plastic straps. At first, the character may be unpleasant because he is over the top (and even a little creepy with his sudden appearances and his not-so-happy expressions) but with the development of the plot and the resolution of the consequences of his painful experiences he appears then sweeter and “normal”.

Kim Mi-so (Park Min-young) is the classic heroine who sacrifices herself for the good of others and endures many injustices without flinching. Young and with a great desire to live, despite being an extremely efficient secretary, she would like to leave her job to understand what to do with her life. This will open up, among other things, an inner conflict because, while she wants to go on with her life, she cannot recognize herself outside the definition of secretary.

Park Yoo-Sik (Kang Ki-young) is one of the directors of the Yoomyung and Lee Young-Joon (Park Seo-Joon)‘s best friend. His is the most amusing character in the drama, tragically comic but infinitely funny.


The nice thing about this drama is the space it gives to the stories of secondary characters such as those between Kim Ji-a (Pyo Ye-jin) and Go Gwi-Nam (Hwang Chan-sung) and Bong Se-Ra (Hwang Bo-ra) and Yang Cheol (Kang Hong-Suk), damn funny office relationships (although the character of Go Gwi-Nam sometimes made a negative impression on me because of his thrift).

Being a rom-com the series plays its plot in a very funny way, making the viewer laugh almost always. The insertions of special effects that brought it very close to the manga style have been very nice too. This drama, however, has managed to combine the comic and romantic factor with a pinch of thriller and mystery. The part that fascinated me the most is, in fact, that which deals with the dark past of the main characters. And I must also admit that the acting of the small Moon Woo-jin and Kim Ji-Yoo amazed me very much given the skill and young age of the two actors.


Based on a manga written by Jung Kyung-Yoon, the drama has a fast pace, at least for the first ten episodes, then it starts to slow down and become boring. I find, in fact, that the first part is very well done and captivating but that the story could have ended earlier. At the end of the series, in fact, there are many episodes that show the couple after reaching the happy ending that have less bite than the previous ones in which there were the courting phase and the resolution of the mystery.


The soundtrack is nice but omnipresent, in the last few episodes, the umpteenth repetition of the same song causes almost nausea.


The locations are very nice, especially the mini apartment of the protagonist and the super-villa of the vice president with its personal waterfall.

The secretary Kim (Park Min-young) does not wear special clothes, on the contrary, her outfits, and especially those for the office, are repeated very often. However, the combination of a blouse and a longuette is a winner for her character who is perpetually with a ponytail.
Another issue are the clothes worn by the woman in her free time, of lesser taste and colours that do not absolutely enhance her skin tone.


Overall it is a drama to consider if you want to spend a few hours smiling and not taking yourself seriously. It is no coincidence that this is one of the dramas with the highest percentage of spectators in the history of Korean television. To see if you don’t want anything too demanding and to relax.
