In the season finale Bec and Ryan confront the fact they're more than friends. Frances faces a shock she never expected from Jack. Sophie and Doug are paired up for a team training exercise when moment of truth takes them both by surprise.

The pressure builds on Frances as Shannon's committal hearing looms. Sophie struggles with Doug and Carla being a couple. When she lets her frustrations show, it leads Doug to reveal the truth about their past to Carla. Bec's anger about Matt and Tiffany's affair is bubbling away with nowhere to go. Flynn's inept efforts to woo Sam force her to realise she does indeed have feelings for him lurking behind her tough facade. Anxiety simmers at the Gross house in the wake of Mrs Gross' decision to invite Anna to family roast night.

Callum stuns Jenny by calling off the wedding. Shock turns to anger as Jenny demands a proper explanation, but Callum is vague and evasive. Sophie reveals the truth to Bec about Matt's affair with Tiffany. Bec's anger at Sophie is quickly replaced by anger at Matt, but Sophie doesn't get off so lightly with Doug who declares that her lying has ruined any chance they ever had of getting back together. As she assists Shannon after his assault, Frances remains blissfully unaware that he's developing romantic feelings for her - but not for long.

Self-preservation is proving to be a challenge, especially for Frances who is confronted by the siege all over again when she learns that gunman, Jackson, has been released from prison.

After Matt's horrific death, everyone is expecting Bec to fall apart. But while her private torment is clear, she shows no overt sign of grief — even at Matt's funeral. Instead, she pastes on a brave face and displays an unnerving vigilance towards Harrison, not even letting Doug look after him. Jenny's adjusting to family life in the wake of the bombshell that there is a new Gross sibling, Sam McKenzie, who it has emerged is Brian's daughter from a previous relationship. The Gross house vibe has changed markedly, their freewheeling banter replaced with a forced politeness as they adjust to Sam. Meanwhile, Sophie planned to postpone her trip to Kenya in the wake of Matt's tragic passing. However, Bec insists she follow it through and when Doug gives her little reason to stay, Sophie heads to Nairobi with no return date locked in. And despite protestations to the contrary, the Jackson meltdown has also deeply affected Frances' sense of security.

As Jenny renews contact with Callum, Bec and Matt fight for their dream block of land. Bridget is growing increasingly suspicious of Dot's cagey behaviour, especially regarding the bar girl, Sam. Bridget gets to the bottom of the 'truth', but lucky for Dot, she grabs the wrong end of the stick. Meanwhile, Sophie and Frances face unexpected obstacles in their relationships as each of the girls learn the truth about their perfect match. Three couples stand strong at the end of the day, but it may not be who you think.

Jenny feels uncomfortable about asking Glenn to attend the naming day, not wanting to upset Bec and Carolyn. Patrick remains suspicious about Jen's new man, but after a frosty dinner confrontation, he promises to make an effort - and urges Jenny to bring Glenn to the big day. Meanwhile, Frances faces a parenting dilemma when Jasmine asks her permission for Ollie to sleep over. Although confronting and uncomfortable for Frances, she learns that she has every right to be proud of her influence in Jasmine's life.

Frances' surprise that it will be just her and Flynn in the law practice is soon overtaken by Tiffany's request that Frances take over as her lawyer in the custody hearing; the case starts tomorrow. Despite immense reservations, Frances agrees to help out. Matt and Bec's relationship continues to crumble as Matt emotionally disengages from the marriage. When an egregious claim is made in the courtroom that Matt is having an affair with Tiffany, Bec's doubts surface, and she wonders if there may be any truth to the allegation. Meanwhile, Sophie's declaration that she never wants to get married throws Doug and causes him to wonder if he's wasting time in a relationship that's ultimately going nowhere.

In Jenny's last week of her teaching placement at Renwood, she discovers the extent to which one of her students is bullying a student.

Jenny is a ball of stress about starting her teaching rounds at Renwood, and visions of Tiffany are doing little to ease her angst. Dot tells her, if in doubt, try a dose of tough love - but when Jenny tries this approach, it only makes the situation worse. Bec tells her to ignore the troublemakers, but this doesn't work either. Finally, inspired by a chat with Bridget, she decides that the best course of action is to become mates with her students.

When Tiffany learns that her ex-husband, Craig, is planning to move their kids overseas, she makes a snap decision that could completely jeopardise her custody case. Jenny is planning the ultimate combined baby shower for Bec and Bridget, and her nerves are hot knowing she has to face Callum's mum for the first time since cheating on him. Jenny's decision not to worry about what other people think has a ripple effect at the party when it convinces Rhys to cast off the fear of public affection that has put Jonathan offside. Meanwhile, when Sophie contemplates applying for a six-month internship in Kenya, she and Doug must face the possibility of an extended separation - and what it will mean for their relationship

Anxious to make a good impression at her orientation week, Jenny tries desperately to fit in, but her first day dredges up ghosts of high school past and sees her return to her comfort zone — the girls toilets. Bec is horrified by the thought that her Mum and Dad might be dating again, but her dad has a different surprise in store when he introduces his new fiancee, twenty-eight-year-old Brandi. Sophie's excitement for the first day of her medical placement is quickly dishevelled when she's relegated to menial tasks, but when Sophie is faced with a medical emergency, she decides to use her initiative. Meanwhile, Zach's wife Claire turns up on Frances' doorstep to apologise for her past behaviour, but Frances has a feeling that's not all she's there for.

Three months after Bec and Matt's wedding, they are dealing with Bec's pregnancy and the paternity of the child. Jenny starts her teaching course at university, while Frances and Zach continue parenting Jasmine. Sophie and Doug are happy, but their relationship is put to the test when Doug learns he is the father of Bec's baby.

Meanwhile, Doug is offered a job in London, but now that Doug's single, Sophie wonders if the timing's right for them to be together. Also, Matt doesn't want to make the same mistake twice and is eager to tie the knot, so when Mrs Gross is given the all clear and Sophie shows her supports for Matt, Bec decides that they should get married tomorrow. But when the time arrives, can they go through with it?

Zach organises a weekend away with Frances and Jonathan to discuss a strategy for their next big pitch. But with Sophie tagging along at the last minute, work takes a back seat as the foursome enjoy some fun and relaxation. Meanwhile, with Mrs Gross's impending surgery on everyone's mind, the Gross family are struggling, and when Jenny's sister Deidre arrives, disagreements and old tensions resurface. Plus, Doug's surprised to learn that Bec still holds a joint bank account with Matt.

After shutting everyone out, Doug finally gets through to her via some harsh home truths. Meanwhile, Frances becomes caught in the middle of Zach and his father, and Jenny gears up for her first date with Rhys.

When Bec, Frances and Sophie swap stories of their 'first time' Jenny is forced to admit she's still a virgin. Sick of feeling like it's a noose around her neck, Jenny sets out to find a man to do the deed with. Frances is stunned to realise she has romantic feelings for Zach. Jonathan insists it's been obvious for a while but it's thrown Frances. The realisation that Zach just sees her as 'one of the blokes' leads Frances to declare she's going to quash her feelings at all costs. Bec visits Tiffany to check how she's doing in the wake of her suicide attempt. Whilst helping her pack up her things, Bec realises that Tiffany's the only one of them holding on to the past.

The girls take to the fields on Race Day. Launching their new business, Zach and Frances have organised a marquee, but some nasty advice from one of Zach's former female colleagues leaves Frances wondering if her new partner can be trusted. Meanwhile, a coincidental meeting with a former university professor reignites a painful memory for Sophie and she hits the races in anxious party mode. But her new-found sobriety means no alcohol, and she throws herself into any action going. Then, Tiffany Turner underestimates the girls' reformed friendship when she arrives with a big announcement for Jenny.
