And more woke trash which could have been a perfectly fine drama but instead decided to try and force political tones about democratic saviors and gender madness.

Thought it would be interesting but it’s turned out to be about how republicans are bad now and after the apocalypse, and how lucky the world it to have some democrats around. I was just hoping to find out what the world would be if all men died.

I loved the comics and count them amongst my favourites, but this show... This show is so boring. Total snoozefest. And its just been cancelled after 1 season. So, that says everything.

I will definitely watch the pilot as I am really interested to see how they plan to "explore gender and race" when there is only one male left alive. Seems like a very one-sided exploration.

@player8472 Lighten up, buttercup. It's based on a 2002 Vertigo comic book.

@player8472 Seems to me that Yorick's exploration of gender and race matters just as much as any of the women's exploration of gender and race. Or are you saying that the man's story doesn't matter?

@player8472 are you implying that gender and race only exist when men are included? do women not have gender and race?

also - the main character of this story is a man, which makes your comment both petty AND nonsensical.

@withadventure
1st: This is only in defense of the comment and not commenting on the actual show (since I still haven't had time to watch it)

2nd:It actually doesn't.
Exploration needs a decent sample-size. ONE while technically a size isn't a big enough size.

The comment would also stand if it was the last woman.

Realistically you can only explore the end of the world, since one man can't repopulate the planet. (Although frozen embrios and sperm could be helpful in an actual solution).

BUT 3rd: The comment was indirectly also about how every show and movie gets advertised with "exploration of gender/race" or "diverse cast" (interetingly enough also if all but one character is black - to be clear: I liked Black Lightning and Delilah, but the protagonists have all the same skin color, it just isn't white :) which means they aren't diverse).

4th: I didn't write that it was false as I hadn't watched it yet, I thought and still think that it is unlikely.

5th: When I get to watching it and I will write what I thought about the actual story compared to the plotline. (Just as I critiqued Big Sky for having someone who died in the first Episode on the Poster)

Oh and @DJ ElITE: You might want to check out some other comments I wrote - you'd see that Buttercup is the wrong insult.

2 episodes watched and that was enough to delete. A few good actors but terrible script and seems low budget. Just talking in a situation room. Sorry but boring.

I started watching this because everyone talked about how excellent the source material was. As I'm not a comic book fan, I will have to take their word for it, but this show just didn't work, with simple characters and it's endless MacGuffin hunts. It reminds me of the second season of The Walking Dead, when it was still teetering with possibilities from the electric first season and the endless slog of every season afterwards. Like that show, I don't see any sign of improvement, so I'm bailing before getting invested.

I really really loved the first episode. It was well directed and the character developing well done, not the usual bad takes we've seen in a lot of shows. I hope they keep them as good as EP.1 .

I don't know what it is exactly about this show, but it's just not compelling TV. I loved the comics (it's one of the best comic series ever), but whatever magic was there didn't translate to the screen despite the series sticking pretty close to the tone of the original material.

I watched 4 episodes and I'm just... bored. Agent 355 is interesting, but only marginally so. Yorick, while charming in the comics, is like a Shia Labeouf imitator who goes "No no no no no!" every three sentences. And so far, it's mostly just people walking from point A to point B through the woman-only post-apocalyptic landscape.

I'm chalking this one up to another proof that creating a faithful adaptation doesn't always mean you capture the magic of the source material. Read the comics instead!

Well I haven't read the comics, loved the idea but seems poorly executed. And Y is really annoying.

Seems that the cancelation was inevitable.

Looking forward to this! I had heard about a possible tv series adaptation years ago, hadn't though we would get it now. Read the comic so many years ago I don't even remember stuff which is perfect cause I won't end up comparing. Edit: 3 episodes in good so far

If this show is about what happens when all the men die, then they have a poor way of getting to it. It just went on too long with the men not dying, and starts off showing a man talking to a monkey. I don't want to watch a show with a man and a monkey. That is beneath me.

@ntvjackson A man and a monkey is always great. Only not here. You definitely missed the 80s, didn't you? There were monkeys and men in abundance in movies and series

There's more than 6 episodes. Also, no one's forcing you to watch them back to back–you can wait a week if that's your fancy. Very weird thing to complain about, especially when Netflix and Amazon have been releasing entire seasons in one go for years.

@abstractlegend According to Screen Rant there will be a total of 10 episodes. It's not really a good idea to trust the episode counts on Trakt. The sources from which they pull data aren't always up-to-date or complete.

The trailer showed an interesting story. Where is it? Why the last man on earth has to be the most stupid and annoying one? At first, I didn't realize that the show is based on a comic (obviously I didn't read it either), but I bet the fans of it are pretty disappointed with the show. It's so slow and focused on these annoying, boring, 2-dimensional characters. The only character that isn't annoying is Agent 355. Where is the story? So much potential and this is what we get?! It's like I watch "The walking dead" all over again.
