I watched this movie and liked it. Not loved it. The explosions. The cheesy lines. The allure of having at least 6 people somewhere trying to make a difference in a world that is otherwise a total disaster in some parts while in the other parts it's just a rat race. So yes, I liked a movie, where people woke up one day and said, you know what? I'll do something about this. Reynolds actually alludes to this when he says something along the lines of; little actions can have a big impact.

Now after I watched this movie, I did what any other traditional person does. Hopped on the internet to see what the world thought of it and to check if a second installment was already on the way, because I want more. Imagine my surprise when I found a few articles from mainstream media, denouncing it for garbage. Even worse, I found a few comments here that describe the movie as garbage.

I won't disagree, but when did we start to expect EVERY movie to be a cultural masterpiece?? This movie isn't here to teach you about the world. It isn't here to inspire you. It's here for some fun. If you're looking for a movie to watch with your mates while your all just eating pizza and drinking beer, well this is it.

If you're looking for a movie to watch with the wife and kids, this probably isn't it. Depending on how comfortable you are with watching women in lingerie, while the scenes are depicting all the signs of people having fun, and sharing all of that with your kids. Oh did I mention that there is a lot of blood? no? my bad. So this definitely isn't one for the family to sit down and watch together.

But it is a fun movie if all that you need is, explosions, beautiful people half naked for a few scenes, parkour and tremendous car crashes. Have fun and for crying out loud, don't decide to skip the movie just because a few ... decided to wake up and call it a horrible movie. Make up your own mind and enjoy watching Reynolds drop a few deadpool-esque lines.

Michael Bay is back doing what he does best. A big noisy bombastic action film with nods to both the Fast and Furious movies and The Mission Impossible franchise.

Number One (Ryan Reynolds) is some kind of wisecracking billionaire inventor and IT expert. He is a ghost which means he has died in this world and been reborn to make right all that is wrong in the world.

Number One and his crack team of other ghosts set out to topple a brutal middle eastern dictator who is gassing his own people.

It is all very slick although confusingly Abu Dhabi seems to be standing in for lots of other countries.

Good to see Bay leave the robots behind and go back to making big dumb actions movies for grown-ups again. I honestly don't remember what happened in the movie but I had a ton of fun watching the lunacy unfold. Reynolds is great as always. He plays the same character he always does and that's why we love him. The rest of the cast is... in it. They're fine but really the film is Reynold's wit and Bay's bombastic action.

His best film in a long time. Not saying much but no one makes movies like Bay and it's enjoyable to see him cut lose again.
