This movie is just so goddamn charming. The cast is great. The story is mostly formulaic and the anachronisms amount to basically a gimmick, but you have to be heartless not to be won over by its charm anyway.

I had better memories of this movie. But it's been twenty years (really ?!) so I probably saw it different then.

To be honest, the story isn't very original and it's very predictable. And William isn't the most likeable character either. In a weird way the mix of medieval tale and contemporary style works. It makes it entertaining and the story almost becomes negligible. I found Christiana more beautiful but that's just me. Rufus Sewell gives you an adversary you love to hate.

The Jousting scenes are absolutely awesome. It really pays off that those were done as in-camera stunts. Everytime a knight gets hit you kinda wince in your chair.

I understand why they cast Rufus Sewell as the baddy 80% of the time, he's got that perfect villainous face to fit the role. Pretty eyes.

I didn't know what to expect, but I really loved this cast and the soundtrack. This is what you call pure fun. Tudyk and Bettany are such a great addition and Heath Ledger has one of those faces you just can't resist. I am glad I finally got to watch this!

Life changing when I first watched all them years ago and still a great watch today!

Such a good fun movie. All the better for the anachronistic moments.

And the banter between Tudyk and Bettany, as well as the chemistry of the whole band makes it just brilliantly watchable over and over again.

“A Knight’s Tale” is a 2001 American medieval, adventure, comedy, and romance film and stars the late Heath Ledger as squire William Thatcher. This film is loosely based on Geoffrey Chaucer (played in the film by Paul Bettany)’s *The Canterbury Tales*.

I’ll begin by saying that it’s been a while since I’ve watched “A Knight’s Tale,” so my memory will be lacking. That being said, I can’t bring myself to love it as much as everyone else who’s raving about the film in the comments. Was the plot interesting? I guess. Although it takes points from Chaucer’s work, it does incorporate modern elements (including a racially ambiguous female lead) and great music from the 70s. Was Ledger committed to his role of a cool-headed optimist? Yeah. How was the set design? Great. How was the banter between Thatcher’s mates? Funny and charming. In the end, I thought “A Knight’s Tale” was pretty... good, but not outstanding.

I think I’d rewatch again, just to (try to) see what the fuss is about.

I saw someone saying that after saying Paul Bettany in this movie, it was impossible to not want Vision to live in Infinity war and now that i've seen this movie, i get it. He's simply awesome.

still remembered how many times Paul Bettany shouted in this movie, not that fantastic movie but enjoyable, good humor still can't believe that ulrich von lichtenstein will become joker later

Honestly if you don't like this movie then you have no soul. It's not technically impressive and it doesn't have particularly unique story but this movie has fucking heart up the wazoo. The characters are all lovable, the message is delivered very effectively, the comedy hits the nail right on the head, the jousting is really well done, and I personally love the anachronistic music choices. It also has a ton of rewatch value, I have no idea why but it just never gets old. If you haven't seen this movie then watch it ASAP.

Just rewatched it ... again. It has absolutely everything. An amazing setting, a brilliant story filled with dreams, fear, treason, humour, action, romance and adventure. to top it off its realy well produced and starring some amazing acting performances.

it's just so good :o even knowing the ending takes nothing away from it. I don't get it. I must have seen it more than 6 times already.
