In 1989, six year old Martin Bristoll was kidnapped from his backyard swing in Minersville Pennsylvania. Graham Sutter, a psychotic recluse, kept Martin imprisoned on his derelict pig farm, forcing him to witness and participate in unspeakable horrors. Chosen at random, his victim's screams were drowned out by the rural countryside. For five years, Martin's whereabouts have remained a mystery, until 17 year old Allison Miller comes to live with her Uncle, Jonathan. While exploring her new surroundings, Allison discovers things aren't quite right at the farmhouse down the road. Her curiosity disturbs a hornet's nest of evil and despair that once torn open, can never be closed.

I saw this a couple years ago not realizing it was a prequel & enjoyed it. Just watched the 1st movie Malevolence then watched this one again. As a stand-alone, this movie isn't terrible. As a prequel...soooo many plot holes. Plus the timeline doesn't really match making me wonder if the writers even watched the 1st one :thinking:

Satisfying prequel to Malevolence. Typical nature vs nurture study that the first was one, but it's cool to see it play out in a slasher like this. Once again Mena shows he has a real proficiency for building tension and some impressive looking shots on a low budget.

I have not seen the first _Malevolence_. I watched this for one reason and one reason only: Alexandra Daddario. The movie was worth watching for her, alone.
Beyond that, this was a pretty boring horror movie that takes more than a few cues from _The Texas Chainsaw Massacre_. Which is funny, because More

Long in development sequel gets a bigger budget (depending on the source, $2M-3.7M vs the $200k of the first) and a bit more talent on the cast side with Michael Biehn, though this likely was Alexandra Daddario's biggest role given it was filmed in late 2007.
