Now this movie was right up my alley. Some drama mixed in with upbeat and funky songs. (with a few Rae solos from Christinanand Cher as well.)

Now the story wasn't all that original and I can see that, you have a girl who really wants to make it and ends up finding a place in which to begin her career. There is also a girl, in this case, Nicky, (played by Kristen Bell), who thinks she's better than everyone else and serves to sabotage out main character. Nicky's character was your basic bad girl but Kristen Bell is an amazing actress and she was able to bring out the flare that Nicky was needing.

This movie can be slightly comedic at tomes, with a few slight quips here and there, but for the most part it is a story about a girl getting her break into the world of fame. Of course, the two main points that make this movie absolutely fantastic is that Cher and Christinan Aguilera are starring as our two main characters. They were the only two who really sang throughout the movie but I was ok with that as they both have really wonderful and majestic voices.

side actors and actresses: when watching a movie you tend to focus on your main characters as they are your main focus. we're talking Tess, Ali, and maybe Jack were the ones designed to push forward our story but I couldn't help but also feel engaged with our much lesser character's. Even though she only appeared momemnteraly one of the most memorable side characters for me was Georgia, (played by the amazing dancer Julliane Hough). It was nice to see Julliane in an acting role as I mainly know her for being a dancer, I'm well aware that her character had dancing to be doing in her limited scenes but one of the most memorable scenes is when she tells Tess that she is pregnant for we got to see the raw emotion and feel it within her voice.

The song's: when reviewing a film that is of the musical genre you have to address the actual songs that are being sung within the movie. This movie, like other musicals I have seen has mixture of different styles. There are the songs that are thrown in there to add a bit of flare to the characters and to initiate these big dance breaks, for this we had Express and Show me How you Burlesque. But then we were also presented with Bound to You and Haven't Seen the Last of Me. This movie did so well at presenting the two different styles of music presented

Overall, a truly great movie.
