Twisty, Arresting, Exhilarating

Drishyam 2 is a dazzling and honest remake of the Mohanlal starrer film by the same name which came out in early 2021. When the story of the film is written with so much assiduity and care, the film is bound to entertain and please the masses. The film takes its good own time to set the dreaded climax which shooks you over and moves you from your seats. Personally, I intentionally missed the Mohanlal Drishyam 2 just to watch the Ajay Devgan version and I believe it was worth it. A powerful score by DSP, a hard-hitting screenplay, and a story written with tenacity make Drishyam 2 an outstanding thriller.

Ajay Devgan and Akshay Khanna, top-notch performances from these veterans. While Ajay sticks to a man with sharp brains who stays humble and keeps his family safe, Akshay's character is more intimidating and strong and is hell-bent on providing Vijay guilty. Kamlesh Sawant as Inspector Gaithonde brings in the much important drama and tinge of humor. Tabu's role is short but effective and Shriya Saran has done the part she was given with great care too. Kudos to Abhishek Pathak who doesn't let the attention of viewers drop, by keeping it extremely tight.

Overall, Drishyam is a faithful remake that wins because of Jeethu Joseph's stunning writing and storyline and brilliant performances from the entire cast. If you have already watched the Malayalam sequel then you have nothing new here, but if you haven't then this one is not something you should be missing.
