In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes, a hard line government ofﬁcial, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that, if successful, will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

A story with too many loose ends, a plot with very few explanations but acting and CGI that was a beauty to look at.

Elysium Set in a future Australia, the peasants from Indonesia (Earth) attempt asylum via space boats on our luscious shores (outer space station). Tony Abbott (played by Jodie Foster) engages in fierce battle to stop the boats. One tactic Abbott employs is by dropping an internet filter, crippling Indonesia’s online infrastructure. 7/10

It's a visually stunning film and the soundtrack is just awesome! I thought both the acting and story was solid. Matt Damon did a good job, and Sharlto Copley's character was quite a unique take on a bad guy to say the least. I had a hard time cheering for Matt Damon also, but that was the point as well. I especially loved all the different types of dialects that was used in the movie. I really like what Neil Blomkamp brings to the table. He has his own type of style.

A little heavy-handed at times with the social commentary though that's Neil Blomkamp's thing with all his movies at this point, however still was entertained throughout, the effects were mostly good (a few shots were a bit iffy) and Matt Damon is good in the lead.
