So they actually gave an explanation for why she was stuck in a time loop, so thumbs up for that! Also, they somehow managed to make the repetitive nature of the film, different again. I enjoyed it almost as much as the first one.

Sincerely one of the best horror sequels of recent memory. Much like the first one surprised me by coming out of nowhere to be a nifty little film, this one does the same (if not more so) Shattering my expectations. It's funny, it's smart, it's playful and just entertaining as hell.

PS: there's an extra mid-credit scene so stick around for that

After the first movie, I was expecting something worse, as it is more common for sequels, but this one surprised me positively. This one may be less slasher than comedy, but is nonetheless just as entertaining. Doesn't need a sequel, but if there will be one, I'm going to watch it.

As seen in other reviews, the first 10 minutes made me think it was gonna be a horrible rehash of the first, but I waited it out and was not disappointed. There was so much new in this movie compared to the first one and once again was making me ask "who did it".

Decent watch, wouldn't class it as horror though, it's not really scary at all.

8/10

I didn't like the sci-fi elements very much and besides that, the movie did not bring anything new compared to part one. Also, most of the dialogues were too cliche and plot much more predictable. But still enjoyable movie.

I honestly liked the first one, but this one is better. The best ""horror"" sequel in a lonnnnnng time. It's funny, smart and give us an explanation about how/why she is stuck on the looping. I realky like it. Ps: It is not Marvel's but has a extra scene after the credits.

This should not be considered horror at all. Like everyone expected horror, I guess that's why they got disappointed.
But there's so much FEELS in this sequel.

I was highly during the first half of this film yet during the second half, I was kind of like "Nope, this isn't for me." Crap sequel that doesn't live up to the expectations like the original did.

Doesn't quite have the same spark as the first one, even if it still is a fun movie. As for overall plot, nice they tried to explain the crazy loop, but made it lose a bit of its charm. As for the moral dilema it caused, well... I guess they could have done better.
Oh boy... so the whole point of picking to go back was to have the guy. When she discovers that Danielle is cheating on him and that he has feelings for her in this reality that dilema ceases to exist. So she has the option of staying with her mother, having the boyfriend and not having killed her roommate and yet she passes??? The issue than becomes is it fair to her other self, but that plot point wasn't even properly utilized and the whole this life isn't mine was only brushed upon... #weak
This isn't a horror movie, it's a comedy. Jessica Rothe is really good in her role as Tree, a woman stuck trying to get her self out of the time loop she's in. This is exactly like the first HDD movie, except this time she commits suicide over and over so that she can relive the same day, while she memorizes mathematical algorithms that will allow her to stay in the dimension of her choosing. This was mostly relayed in a montage but it's horrible subject matter, so trying to keep it light must have been a challenge.

The biggest problem I had with Tree's dilemma is that you never get a sense of the frustration she would experience by having to relive the same day, like was expertly played out in films like "Edge of Tomorrow" and "Groundhog Day".

This is very violent but not gory. It certainly isn't scary, either. The machine that opens up dimensions is silly and the dean of the university is a typically stupid authority figure. Actually, his unhinged pursuit of shutting down the machine is annoying because his behavior is so manic.

Watch this for Jessica Rothe's funny performance.
