The movie was well ahead of its time. But in a good way.

When I watches it few days ago, it felt like a Netflix movie from last year.
Cause on this movie, all men are bad. There are no good ones.

Also known as I Spit On Your Grave. Thiscfilms is full of horror and gore, so be warned the feint of heart.

A traumatic tale of a woman, gang raped and left for dead, her revenge on the culprits leaves nothing to the imagination, and the audience applauding this woman fire exacting her justice.

I recommend watching the remake; the rape is more visceral and the revenge is more drawn-out and violent. And if you're watching a movie in the "rape & revenge" subgenre of horror, those are really the only two things the movie needs to do well.

Good grief. I can’t believe the sequences in this film. There is no glorification in this film. It’s tough to watch.

A hideous, hugely offensive, badly made, steaming pile of movie manure, that, most offensively of all, tries to sell itself as a feminist piece. If you've not seen it, believe me, a feminist piece is the very last thing that this horrible film is. In my opinion, this is one of the top two worst movies ever made. The only film that is more awful than this is an utterly horrid offering called A Serbian Film. Yes, this film is only out done for repugnance by that.

Just rape porn with almost no plot and scenes that go on for too long without any payout... May have been ok for the time, its a steaming pile of garbage nowadays

I remember watching this in the '80s, maybe 10 years after its release in theaters. I was quite uncomfortable watching the rape scenes and took great delight watching her exact her revenge. After watching it again (this may be the third time?), it's quite cheesy and not at all discomfiting. Maybe that's due to watching the reboot, which is extremely violent in all aspects. This one is almost laughable in some scenes because of how unbelievable the premise is. I tend to agree with some others who say if you're actually **looking** for the "rape & revenge" type, watch the reboot. This one can scarcely hold your attention by today's standards. I have to admit, though, it was nice seeing some of those throwback 70's cars, clothes, and settings. (Dark panel walls, heavy wooden cabinet stereo with a "record player", '75 Dodge Aspen, god-awful upholstery & furniture, etc :smile:).
