Intolerable Cruelty was decent. It had its funny moments, but the rest of the time it was just lurching about everywhere. The overacting was a bit much for me at times too. Burn After Reading was a much better black comedy and is still my favourite of the Coen films that I've seen.

Never have I seen so many asses nailed in one movie.

Catherine looks so beautiful in this movie.

If you love the Coen brothers, this is a treat for you. I did NOT know they did this movie so I was surprised when everything seemed so quirky. A lot of beautiful people screwing each other over in this.

Not awful, just kinda dumb and annoying. I appreciate their attempt at elevating the romantic comedy by making these bold stylistic references to classic Hollywood, but the execution falls flat for me. The acting, the comedy, the overblown score; it’s not my thing. It’s Clooney and the filmmaking that save this one from being unwatchable for me.

An interesting turn from the Coens... Around the turn of the 90s they became 'mainstream' and were able to attract huge Hollywood stars for casting... The downside though is that the scripts didn't match the new talent.

This isn't The Big Lebowski.

What we have here is a missed opportunity. Clooney is over the top but if you accept it, it's fine. Catherine Zeta Jones is fantastic. And the plot is predictable if you spot a key couple of signs... but I'd hoped one prediction would have bore fruit and was disappointed it did not.

I had a good giggle in parts and quite enjoyed the majority of the film. But it felt a little too lightweight overall. And it's got little rewatch value sadly.

Another entry by the Coen Brothers. The film was billed as a "smart romantic comedy", and for the first 90 minutes or so it was just that. I felt like the last 15 minutes were completely dishonest as the ending was not faithful to the rest of the movie.
