Intolerable Cruelty

An interesting turn from the Coens... Around the turn of the 90s they became 'mainstream' and were able to attract huge Hollywood stars for casting... The downside though is that the scripts didn't match the new talent. This isn't The Big Lebowski. What we have here is a missed opportunity. Clooney is over the top but if you accept it, it's fine. Catherine Zeta Jones is fantastic. And the plot is predictable if you spot a key couple of signs... but I'd hoped one prediction would have bore fruit and was disappointed it did not. *spoiler* I had hoped that the plot took a turn and forced Miles Massey to break his own impenetrable prenup */spoiler* I had a good giggle in parts and quite enjoyed the majority of the film. But it felt a little too lightweight overall. And it's got little rewatch value sadly. 7/10
