The story follows Nozaki Haruka, a middle school student who transfers to a new school in a small town because of her father's work. Unfortunately, she becomes a victim of horrific bullying, but since the school will be closing in 2 months after graduation, no one is willing to help her.

wow this was a beatiful and disturbing movie. slowly told and gruesomely shown. def one of my new favourite j-horror movies now. i just love how calm the story is but how much effect it has. great stuff! i give one extra point because it was just my kind of movie and i cant stop thinking about it.

A very violent but interesting movie. Not for the faint hearted. Expect a lot of gore and brutal things, themes of bullying are also present. The aesthetics of the movie(snow and such) are superB though.

I read half of the manga this is based off quite a long time ago so I was under the impression that some things were changed for the worse in this adaptation. Turns out I miss remembered and it is pretty much a straight transfer from the original. While it looks great and also delivers on the violence, it does not change the fact that the manga itself was just kinda bad :(.
