I'm pretty sure vampire is my least favorite horror sub-genre. I hardly see this film on any streaming services and it's finally on Shudder so I decided to give it a try. Now I get why people talk about it a lot. It's finger lickin’ good! Probably my favourite after _A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night_ & _Vampire's Kiss._ I find it thoroughly entertaining and gripping. It has Western feel setting that reminds me of _The Hitcher_ and _From Dusk Till Dawn_. It's great to see vampires that aren't just some sex maniacs. I really love how it is too bright for a vampire film and it gives those vamps little room to escape. Tangerine Dream score is killer and it rips throughout the film. The chemistry between Adrian Pasdar and Jenny Wright character is great and the romance is very sweet and subtle. If you don't like romance, there's plenty of action and gore. The rest of the cast did a great job but I want to highlight Bill Paxton. He steals the show playing this cocky and unhinged vampire, Severen and he's a lot of fun to watch. The scene where cowboy Caleb rides a horse to get his sister and kill vampires is too damn awesome!
