I like Maleficent and Prince Philip, but the good fairies are a hardship to endure..

A lovely film that incorporates arrangements of Tchaikovsky's ballet. Fantastic animation for it's time, Disney was on top form with this one.

A classic Disney film but does look a tad outdated now.

The last time I saw this movie was when I was a little kid. It was my favorite Disney movie, I always wanted to be Aurora, I even dressed as her for a Halloween party. :D Anyway, I just watched this movie, now as an adult, and well, I still enjoyed it very much! Ofc it's a little bit outdated now, but I think it still has its magical vibe. I still love this movie! Maleficent is my all-time favorite villain. It was nice to have my childhood back for an hour. :))) Oh and: Team Blue Dress!

Sleeping Beauty is a masterpiece. In my opinion, it’s not just the best animated film to ever come out of Walt Disney Studios!

I recommend this film if you're interested in beautiful classic animation. The dragon scenes are immense. The watercolor backgrounds also deserve a shout-out. The story and Aurora's character could be fleshed out more and won't interest everyone.

Another solid effort from the opening decades of Disney.

I found the premise to 'Sleeping Beauty' enjoyable. There are better stories out there, but this one featuring Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip is decent. Those two are noteworthy here, but Maleficent is the most interesting.

The voices for Aurora and Phillip are done by Mary Costa and Bill Shirley, while Maleficent is voiced by Eleanor Audley; the latter is the standout, just like in 'Cinderella'... she's good at playing the villain! Aside from those three, there isn't much depth to the rest of the characters.

The animation seems, at least to me, to be inferior in parts of this film. A lot of the terrain in the forest looks blocky, it is seemingly a different style used compared to their preceding eight productions - or maybe it's just something I noticed more here than in any other.

3* for me, worth watching.

_7 - Good_

Lighthearted, yet scary at some times. Such good voice performances as well.

The story hasn't aged great but I won't hold that against this. Maleficant is badass and the best thing in the movie.

I'll be very honest this was only 7 stars because of Maleficent. She was the only reason why I was able to watch through this otherwise bad movie as a child and even as an adult. Love the music of course I had the VHS with the Pop version of "Once Upon a Dream". Spoiler Alert! She sleeps the majority of the time. So essentially it's about Maleficent being a bad ass Queen of Evil, some betrothed Prince who is no doubt older than her since he was there when she was a baby (i have to look up his exact age), and some faires who I thought was slightly funny (but not worthy of a smile more like a huff) as a child now I find more annoying as an adult.
