The last TNG movie - the last Star Trek movie (I don´t recognize Abramsverse).

I had hoped they would continue the storyline from Insurrection concerning the conspiracy in Starfleet but I was very satisfied with this one. The chemistry between Stewart and Hardy is what makes this worth watching. I know many fans don´t like this one, I often heard comments that Stuart Baird was the wrong choice for directing a Star Trek movie but I don´t share these thoughts. As a longtime Star Trek fan myself I think a lot of times other fans critizise something in Trek movies it´s due to the fact that these movies have to appeal to a wider audience. That´s the reason that those not so much Star Trek like elements make it´s way into the features. I can live with that.

It´s very sad seeing the crew split up at the end. I always hoped the franchise would continue. But as with the TV show - all good things must come to an end.

Data was, is and will be my hero forever.

I really liked the tenth movie. Again, a lot of action, maybe a bit too much for Star Trek, but perfect for my taste. I can't decide if number 8, 9 or 10 is my favorite movie. Three times a 10/10. TNG with its movies was truely fantastic. A superb crew, every single member (also Deanna, although many people don't like her). The movie was a suitable ending to this show. I will miss them.

How could they? :sob::sob::sob:
Data was and is the best character in both TNG and Star Trek universe. To just kill him off like that was incredibly cruel and heartbreaking. I hope this isn't how his story truly ended and that they'll bring him back in Picard and explain that he survived somehow. I really don't want the clone to replace him, it's insulting. There's only one, true Data.
Besides the devastating ending, I enjoyed the movie very much.

Barring a couple of missteps, this is nowhere near as bad as initial reactions to the film would suggest (and anyone who thinks so should spend 20 minutes watching Star Trek V). The film is essentially two halves, the first setting up intriguing developments in the Romulan Empire and an unusual villain. It is a shame that the film didn't attempt to hide the villain's true nature or make him more sympathetic as the film develops as much of this is abandoned in the second half for an extended action sequence, which is actually one of the strongest done for a Trek film. Data and Picard continue to be the focus though at the expense of the rest of the crew and the familiar themes of family and moving on are starting to become a little tiresome. What also doesn't work is a "rape" scene that just feels vastly out of place and a subplot involving another android, which feels superfluous and unfortunately undermines the end of the film. It's a reasonable send off for the Next Generation cast but not as strong as the one for the original crew.

A young Tom Hardy as the villain is the only memorable thing about this.

Decent SFX and a good plot are destroyed by the predictability and mediocre acting. But still a fun watch!
