This film looks great. Not really atmospheric. The ongoing feeling of mystery lacks clarity. We don't get any solid information on the characters or plot, least non that seems believable or worth investing in. Even the weirdest mysteries need a time to build some character and to have plot junctures to make us care, think or feel. This movie lacks cohesion in place of crafted suspense. The line of looking simular, which is a big deal in this movie, has a really heavy handed race message from the start. It didn't make me think. Half way through it felt like a movie using noir style for the sake of it. It wants to be taken serious, but it's hollow.
