Its like Doctor Frankenstein if he created no monster. I watched thus for three reasons. Val Lewton, Boris Karloff, and Bela Lugosi. I enjoyed Karloffs performance but it ended there.

Great movie. Boris Karloff in possibly his greatest role. He ruled this movie! He is truly to be feared as the grave robber holding damaging info on a doctor. A great watch!

I don't know, great performance from Karloff and great last scene, otherwise it's forgettable. The story isn't engaging enough. It fails to achieve the tension and suspense. It doesn't grab me the way the other Val Lewton produced films do.

Some of the best acting in a 1940s horror movie that I have seen. Boris Karloff and Henry Daniell were amazing. Russell Wade’s acting wasn’t as good. Great plot partially based on some true life events (look up Burke & Hare). Toddy, Toddy, Toddy.

Grave robbing is one thing, but murder is quite another.

Dr. MacFarlane and John Gray share a murky past, but just what is this hold that the lurching Gray has over the eminent Doctor? Based on a Robert Louis Stevenson short story, The Body Snatcher contains tight direction from Mr Versatile, Rob More
