THE BURNING IS A STYLISH HORROR THRILLER COMEDY FROM TONY MAYLAM THE DIRECTOR OF SPLIT SECOND AND ALL STAR CAST IS BRIAN MATTHEWS, LEAH AYRES (ALL THAT JAZZ, BLOODSPORT), BRIAN BACKER, LARRY JOSHUA, JASON ALEXANDER (JACOB’S LADDER, PRETTY WOMAN, SEINFELD), NED EISENBERG, CARRICK GLENN, FISHER STEVENS AND HOLLY HUNTER FROM AN UNCOMMON LOVE, BLOOD SIMPLE, SWING SWIFT, RAISING ARIZONA, BROADCAST NEWS, ALWAYS, THE FIRM, THE PIANO, COPYCAT, HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, CRASH, A LIFE LESS ORDINARY AND LIVING OUT LOUD.

So I finally watched this 80s slasher..some positives being the raft boat scene was gory as hell and Tom Savini done a great job on the make up effects. It’s an odd cast including young up and comers like; Jason Alexander. However, multiple scenes of teenage boys trying to force girls to have sex with them.. then the girls are killed off first as if it’s a punishment for them not opening up.. guess this is a Weinstein flick after all! Very similar to Friday the 13th, so I guess if your a Jason fan this one is for you. I’m not a massive fan of the original Friday the 13th, I’d probably say this was as good as it to be honest, both fairly average. Although Friday the 13th went on to make better movies and became iconic, the burning could of probably done with a sequel, it had the elements there for one.
