Rich old Cyrus West's relatives are waiting for him to die so they can inherit. But he stipulates that his will be read 20 years after his death. On the appointed day his expectant heirs arrive at his brooding mansion. The will is read and it turns out that Annabelle West, the only heir with his name left, inherits, if she is deemed sane. If she isn't, the money and some diamonds go to someone else, whose name is in a sealed envelope. Before he can reveal the identity of her successor to Annabelle, Mr. Crosby, the lawyer, disappears. The first in a series of mysterious events, some of which point to Annabelle in fact being unstable.

This movie is funny, like modern day funny. The effects are similar to today's meme edits and shitposts. It's one of those stay in a haunted house/reading of will type movies, you think it wouldn't be that popular of a genre but it really is common, especially from the 20s to the 60s it seemed every 10th movie was one of these Old Dark House type movies. Also, it's kept my attention which isn't rare for a hour long movie, but it's rare for a silent film. Aren't the Hollywood girls of the 50s and earlier so gorgeous? I think so at least. :asterisk_symbol:in a gangster accent:asterisk_symbol: You know those dames were some beautiful broads!
