More, but not really better than the first one. More characters, more blood, more fights, more of everything. It missed some editing and purpose. I missed the contrast between the quiet, everyday life scenes and the action from the first one. It made the action really stand out.

Too many groups, and too many forgettable characters. I still remember every main character in the first one, and what was their role. Here, not so much. The main character was fine
but not that much in the story at all.
. I did enjoy the fights, with some really cool shots. Not that much the shitty CGI in a few parts, especially the car crashes looked bad.

The bad guys also lost all their cool compared to the first one. They should have resurrected Mr. Choi. He was soo good.
Not sure why they felt the need for English-speaking characters, Especially Tom was just annoying.
Actually, the worst thing about the whole movie was
the billboard in the middle of nowhere. It felt so out of place. Why was it there? Did I miss something?
Still, the fights, most of the characters, and the gore were enjoyable enough, for me to look forward to part 3.

Overall, _The Witch 2: The Other One_ is a mostly solid sequel that simply isn’t as good as its predecessor.

However, while Park fails to get you as invested in the film’s story this time around, he does continue to provide a refreshing take on the concept of superhumans with an emphasis on relentlessly violent action and a well-developed world.

So much so that it may actually pay off to watch The Other One before Subversion since the latter is more of a look at the ‘Witch’ version of Ja-yoon than the film she actually originated in.

The first film in this series was excellent but I can only describe part two as "painfully dull".

Character development is fine but it should not take up two thirds of what is essentially an action film. Regrettably, that's exactly what you get.

Worse still, there are so many side characters and sub plots, it quickly becomes a confusing mess. You really have little idea what is going on, why and who half these largely redundant, side characters are.

This films only saving grace is reasonable acting. That said, so much else simply doesn't work, that means little in the scheme of things.

All in all, an awful sequel to a vastly superior original film. Its weighed down by a lack of pace, bland, uninspired storytelling and an over emphasis on side plots and characters that add little to nothing, to the tale.

I was a bit disappointed with this movie when comparing it to the first. Don't go into this one expecting an actual sequel, this is more a side-quel. They do not progress the story of the previous main character, infact she is not in this movie apart from a single scene near the end.

In a lot of ways this movie is just a rehash of the first but with a new character, the sister of the first movies protagonist.

The fights in the third act are bigger in scope, but are a bit of a let down with the excessive CGI.

Also, I don't know why some Korean movies feel the need to include foreign, often terrible actors in their movies, and while many Koreans can speak English well, they cannot act well when speaking it, they have terrible inflection and makes the movie feel cheap and cringey. The dialogue between the female agent and the south African guy was abysmal in every scene. Really cheapens the movie.

If you liked the first movie give it a watch, but don't expect it to be better or even match it.

It felt like the whole movie was just a set up for the next one, if it happens.

It's still pretty good, feels like i'm watching an anime in real life. There are 3 major things i can't stand though.
1. Almost everyone gives that dead look face, like they're so tough and you can't lay a finger on them. Feels like no one has their own personality.
2. The cursing!! Wth is going on with all that unnecessary swearing and cursing. I don't know if they added it in for some laughs or to make it look cool but they are definitely overusing it and it's so cringey. Especially chief, i bet every single line in her script had at least one swear word. She's defitinitely one character u wanna try to like but her dead look face, her attitude and her swearing is just unappealing.
3. Language. I don't understand why they have to throw in all the different languages. I mean fine, Chief has a foreign colleague/partner so she communicates in english (which isn't half bad) but mandarin????? It was sooooo bad it's not even funny, i'm a chinese and I couldn't figure out half the things they said in there. (thank God for the subs) Their pronunciation was so off and the tone that they were speaking in wasn't even right which makes it even worse LOL. They need to just stick to their own language and explain later that they were from some other country or something and quit making a fool out of themselves (which they did in this one but they still made those poor actors speak mandarin.
Plot wise, i thought this wasn't too bad and like i mentioned in part 1, their cgi graphics are definitely decent compared to what i've watched in other asian movies. i do think that part 1 was better than part 2 and I am definitely looking forward to part 3.
