While SRK's performance is commendable, the film's potential is hindered by a weak script and predictable plot. There is no energy in the action sequences and no depth in the supporting characters. Despite reasonable production values, Jawan fails to leave a lasting impact. Recommended only for hardcore fans of SRK. If you have seen enough South Indian movies then you'll quickly realize that this is a mashup of many other films.

Like cheap popcorn: one of the main reasons I go to the movies. Jawan is ridiculous, sure, but the slo-mo implausible fights scenes, the unnecessarily convoluted story and the absurd action sequences executed to the pounding strains of Desi rock explode on the big screen in a way that makes me giggle with the joy of being in the cinema.
