Wow, this documentary was not what I expected. Looks like I blindly stepped into a regular old beehive. I don't know what I was expecting per se. Maybe a bit of light viewing about the rise and fall of a business (you know, as the title suggests)? No, that's only the disguise. What this documentary really is, is a portrayal of Mike Jeffries as a giant racist. An extremely loaded subject. I honestly don't care about the man, or his brand. Never wore it, or even so much as thought about it before seeing this. So I feel as though I can talk freely about it. This documentary fits right into current times with its level of wokeness. You feel excluded by a fashion brand? Aww. That's so sad. But maybe get over yourself though?

Mike Jeffries is clearly no angel, but he had a strong vision for this brand. Something which helped build A&F into a giant corporation. This documentary does not want to let this man have his vision. The makers of this documentary are completely oblivious to the idea that if you don't like something, you simply don't interact with it. You know, as in how a free world works. Go make your own clothing brand if you do not agree with this man. See if you can make it as successful as he did. Prove him wrong with capitalism. There's more value in that rather than being offended. All that does is make you look like a little something that rhymes with Abercrombie & Fitch.

The main thing this documentary really revealed to me is how much it's a problem for some people to just continue living their life when they discover something in the world that somehow conflicts with their view. People actually think their feelings give them some kind of special rights. Well here goes. By the power of being offended by this documentary, I demand that you... don't watch this. Saves you 90 minutes of agony. You're welcome.
