Chihaya Ayase has spent most of her life supporting her sister’s model career. When she meets a boy named Arata Wataya, he thinks Chihaya has potential to become a great karuta player. As Chihaya dreams of becoming Japan's best karuta player, she is soon separated from her karuta playing friends. Now in high school, Chihaya still plays karuta in the hope that she will one day meet her friends again.

I started with no expectations, just because of a suggestion. It ended up leaving a hole in my daily life like "what am i going to watch now?". It's not really my genre, but the rithm is perfect, not too many dead moments or cliffhanger, is like an easy ride, consistent but not boring. If you are the kind of person who can emphatize with the main characters (independently of the genre) than this is a must watch. If you are worried about the fact that everything (literally) is built around a card game, don't worry, this anime is about life choices, challenges, psychology and relationships. The card game is just the perfect environment to develop the story and the characters.

A very well done animation. I vote 8 not 10 because they always playplayplay karuta. Hang around sometimes no..!?

Man, season 2 was intense. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I really hope Madhouse continue the story as we've once again ended in a place that is most definitely not at the end.
