Well acted, well put together mini-series. However, the creators were so focused on delivering as many "social justice warrior"-driven story arcs (poor minority (lesbian, illegal, migrant...) female facing evil white male (anti-gay, anti migrant, sexual predator) that they forgot to write a truly compelling story. The 4th episode ends and you're like "meh, that's it? that's what I get for putting up with 3 hours of PC propaganda?" No thank you

A bit disappointing series. It starts interesting, then adds loads of characters and many side stories, adds a lot of moral messages and then in the end it's of course the evil white men (all white men in the series are at fault in one way or another) who dunnit. The series is slow-paced and at some point starts to be very predictable. And it could really have done without several of the point less side stories. This is one of the lesser BBC mini series.

I don't agree with other comments. While the casting and acting is pretty good overall, the plot wasn't on par with it. One could pretty much know the outcome halfway through :/

So psyched to see Carey Mulligan play a badass pregnant crime deductive! and casting Ahd is the BEST having an Arab playing an Arab is finally done right, the whole show was done right

Season 1 of Collateral started out decent but gradually went on the decline each episode. Their was way too many characters and subplots for a mini series to be focusing on and it took away from the main plot. Amazing cinematography at times and did give us a good sense of the gritty London setting. More

This show, like so many other British TV shows, uses a conspiracy involving members of some security forces in its principal plot. It’s an oft-repeated plot.

Secondly, the personal lives of several characters have no bearing on the plot, so their purpose seems to be only to fill the time.

I watched this primarily because Nicola Walker is in it and she never disappoints. As much as I loved her in River and Unforgotten, it’s was refreshing to see her play a non-detective in a police show detective (she was brilliant as a perpetrator in another series).
