A very realistic take on the empty and soul-less nature of modern warfare especially in Iraq. It's so realistic that it kind of confused me in the beginning. Pop culture has trained me to think that the war after 9/11 was an intense fight for survival, when in reality it was a complete waste of time (which is what a lot of people have been saying). A stark contrast to Band of Brothers that's for sure. Generation Kill is a real eye-opener.

While I enjoyed Band of Brothers too, this feels a lot more closer to reality. Like @Alex Cano said, not for the "patriotic" guys.

This is terrible. I couldn´t even make it through the second episode.

A bunch of kids pretending to be tough marines while most of them leaving the impression they couldn`t even tie up their own shoes. Stupid dialogue with constant repetition of the f-word in every second sentence as if there where a rule to do so.

After just having seen Over There this shouldn`t even been mentioned with the same breath.

A crude, and I think, very close to real, depiction of a small part of the machinery: higly trained soldiers in a war. Great production, likeable characters, good dialogues. Good overall. Definitely no to be put along other "patriotic" TV series, as is not the same breed.

as a war veteran, this is the closest tv ever gotten to reality. They nailed 80% of the nuances and the politics of a grunt company

I wanted to love this. But it's the old adadge of fantasy is more interesting than reality. Poor character development leading to no vested interest. Overplayed idiocy of the establishment.

There nothing kick ass here, just unlikable idiots fumbling around in a distant land. Love or hate sort of show I think. Check out the infinitely superior Band of brothers.
