that's what we call history fabrication, war scenes are all nonsense, spartan can kill like 100 while they are just watching him, I don't see why you show Spartans like human beings while presenting any other race as beasts and freaks , boring story with unneeded nudity, I'm searching for one thing I did admired about that movie but null,I just watched it cus I've watched it before as a kid and I remember it was horrific to me which I did enjoyed(ofc it was censored ), but for a critical review it's 0/10 for me even if we dealt with this as a true story not fabricated, boring story , exaggerated idea to show every race as a bad devils but weak at battles while your heroes are good ones defending their land and more than god wars they are unbeatable, graphics were eye hurting but at that era of time we can skip talking about that, all this leave us with only acting to judge, not bad tbh but not impressed too, it would have been more way better at acting prespective if it was a true story showing the bad and the good of every character, you know that a superficial story results superficial acting.over all I'm giving 1/10 as I can't give 0

King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) leads 300 Spartans into battle against the Persian King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and 300,000 of his Persian soldiers. Zack Snyder has managed to adapt Frank Miller's novel in such a stylish way. The imagery is captured and presented in comic book fashion and is simply amazing. The visuals and colouring work really well look stunning. The score also really compliments the visuals and the incredible camera work. I am not a fan for slow-mo use, but it worked really well during battle scenes. It was so gory; it was awesome to watch. I just wish the slower paced scenes were as good as the battle sequences. It did have a little issue with pacing, but it can be forgiven. Gerard Butler is the standout performer as expected, he was superb. He delivered such a energic and charismatic performance that I don't think anyone else managed to match in my opinion. He embraced the role of a Spartan like a true warrior in the way he looked, but also in the way he delivered his lines. I can't think of another actor that could have done a better job in such a role. I'm not sure how I felt about Dominic Cooper, he just didn't feel write in this universe. This film lacked more great characters to go alongside Butler. While still some good performances, the actual characters themselves were not that memorable to me. Rodrigo Santoro is definitely a contender to match Butler as he was really good as the king. His appearance was frightening. I won't go into how accurate this film is because simply I didn't care if it was or wasn't. It is dark, wonderful, and really cool at the same time. 6/10.

Leather underwear and a cape is honestly such a Look™. _300_ cops a lot of flak for being all style and no substance, and I'm not gonna stand here and lie to you by refuting that. What I will say however, is that style over substance does not inherently make a movie bad. _300_ is a lot of fun, you get what's going on, and there's some genuine rewatch value. Final rating:★★★½ - I really liked it. Would strongly recommend you give it your time.

300, the 2007 story of the three hundred Spartans who held off a massive Persian offensive in Ancient Greece, proved a disappointing film. In spite of my Classics degree, I won't complain about the divergences from recorded fact. The film is clearly meant to be a fantasy on historical themes instead of a faithful account of the event. Rather, what irked me was the hammy dialogue. There were the tropes of recent Hollywood battle scenes: warriors on the good guys' side defending themselves with little exertion as they trade silly quips about how they've got each other's backs. A queen gives an address to a council that is all melodrama -- are we back in George Lucas' "Star Wars" prequels? Having enjoyed Sin City, a film with a similar green screen approach, I thought that 300 would be enjoyable on the basis of its special effects, but alas it wasn't. For one, the cinematography is claustrophobic. All outdoor scenes but one were filmed with a green screen, and the digital backdrops add no depth. Even when supposedly standing on the Greek coast under a big sky, everyone seems like they are just standing around in a fairly small room. Also, the fight scenes seem more primitive than considering that this film followed years after The Matrix Reloaded. The little I can recommend 300 for is the variety of demonic monsters and exotic costumed assassins that fill the Persian army. As I said, this is a fantasy on historical themes, and the additions are often interesting. Still, I had a hard time sitting through the whole film.
