This is more of a thriller than an action movie and I really liked that. I am actually glad this isn''t the typical US hero movie but instead focuses more on what really went on because a lot of hostage situation is waiting for things to happen. You can call this boring or realistic depending on what your preference is. But I''m certain an americanised movie version would have ruined it. Even the raid itself wasn''t overdone it actually looked more realistic that way.

Different approach to a hostage situation story, focuses more on what is going on behind closed doors than actual action. It is slow-pacing movie but I think that this suit this narrative. Also it shows how much has changed past (almost) 40 years in this type of crisis.

They should''ve called this **Waiting** 6 Days, because that''s all that happens in this film. Rewatch Argo instead...

Go into this expecting an action movie and you will be disappointed. Instead, you get a dramatic reenactment of the event that gripped the world in 1980. Despite the stilted dialogue, this is a mostly fascinating look at the events from a variety of viewpoints, including the terrorists.

Really enjoyed 6 Days. Love the tactical side of it, the SAS, the strategy, and tension were done really well. Itโ€™s not over the top, just grounded and focused, which makes it feel even more immersive. Great watch if youโ€™re into military or hostage-rescue stories, especially true ones.

Some background first. Bear in mind that there weren't many channels on UK terrestrial TV in 1980, so that the potential audience was huge. I was one of the millions who watched the end of the Iranian Embassy siege live in black and white on a Sunday after lunch. I do recall that it interrupted the afternoon's film; a Western, I think! This is a well-made, workmanlike film about the events that led up to that point and its conclusion. It pulls very few punches in doing so; it's also very British in its viewpoint. The decision-making process and planning for the operation are covered in detail, with the action being contained in the closing few minutes. The stand-out performance is by Mark Strong, as the chief negotiator, Max Vernon, who was doing the job he'd been trained and ordered to do. Again, in a very British, stiff-upper lip, way..

6 Days is a thriller based on the real life siege of the Iranian Embassy in 1980. I was not born when these events actually happened but I had heard about it. It is a fairly decent movie that seems to stay true to its representation. The film is not overly dramatic and does not try to glorify the action and add extra drama in an attempt to steer away from any sort of realism which I appreciated and stayed down to earth. It had a certain grittiness to the way it was shot. Jamie Bell and Mark Strong give off some great performances and they felt believable. Abbie Cornish was a bit of a let-down. She just felt like a pretty face to add to the film and was quite lifeless if I am honest. The SAS scenes were the better scenes for me and offered the most excitement and was pretty intense, especially the siege itself at the end. It was thrilling to say the least. It's not a spectacular movie or the most exciting, but it stayed true to itself. 6/10

Boring, It can be done better than this, story is predicted as an attack against terror in 6 days! American based movies were more better in terrorism real events, however watch to know more!

A muted thriller covering an interesting event. Not spectacular, and again, a bit muted in terms of pacing. Still had a good time watching it though.

More _Zero Dark Thirty_ than _13 Hours_, but not able to climb to the heights that Kathryn Bigelow did on that. Not surprising, when you don't have a Kathryn Bigelow of your own, but still, _6 Days_ is not going to rock the genre. _Final rating:โ˜…โ˜…ยฝ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didnโ€™t quite work as a whole._

**A week of middle-east circus in London!** The 1980 London terror attack. Those days are just the beginning of this new terrorism culture of middle-east. By the way, why should the world care about if one terror seeking just from another. That's the platform of this film. All about middle-east shit, dragged into the west. Based on the real. The film was slow, though a decent film. Obviously predictable, but worth a watch. When the iranese embassy was taken hostage by a terror group with demands placed the England government to fulfil, how they have tackled the situation was told from multiple people's angle who were involved in it. One thing it's missing was the some aspect of the tale from the hostages. I don't know why they did emotionalised this tale. Especially from the negative side. The actors were nice, the production too. Other than that it was not a most expected film of the year. Maybe not many have heard of it. Except it's more like a television film, I think once watchable. _6/10_
