A Single Man - Comments & Tips
Too downtrodden for me. I get the sentiment. But the age difference stuff is a little weird. Also, the suits are distracting.
This is a very good Colin Firth flick. It's a nicely put together film, with a meaningful story portrayed strongly. Firth gives a big performance in the lead role, with him being the only standout performer - though the supporting trio of Julianne Moore, Nicholas Hoult and Matthew Goode are all solid co-stars. Jon Hamm, meanwhile, has a cameo; when I heard it, I actually thought it was Armie Hammer. My only criticism is the (intentional, of course) colour saturation, which kinda made a few of the scenes look cheap (if still minorly effective) in my opinion. That's nothing major though, as I enjoyed watching this 2009 release.
Felt so connected to George and how emotions fluctuate sometimes so quickly. Reminded me of how hard great acting is with Colin Firthโs performance. To be so focused to make Georgeโs words and gestures so believable and moving is a tremendous feat!
I liked the movie, but i didnt like the end.
more crafted than directed. simpyl enormous movie. fantastic performance by colin firth and julianne moore.
Love this movie.
Cinematography in this film is beautiful, Colin Firth''s acting is amazing as always and well Nicholas Hoults fake tan was the only thing terrible in this film.
It is such a beautiful movie, specially because of the pictures and speeches... it gave me lots to think about

After seeing this movie I went to check out the reviews on rottentomatoes.com. I think one reviewer nailed it when he said that this film was more crafted than directed. I was stunned to see that this was the first time effort by a man that came from the world of design. This is rather high on the artsy scale but I absolutely loved it. The ending was brilliant and true to the film (and I didn''t see it coming). follow me at https://IHateBadMovies.com
