Like amateur phone sex: it's pretty cool except for all the taking. A solid indie horror that does a nice job blending in some drama, but sadly the speeches are far too many and not very well written. Apart from that, though, the third act is a banger.

The ambition is there but everything is just a little bit too bad. The story could be ok but the flow and dramaturgy is terrible, the effects and the soundtrack don't really fit, acting is sub par and... yeah just nah. And for being a radio show host desperate to recover his career, the protagonist is sure lax and uninterested in making a story. The only redeeming quality is the character Don by Ben Hall. Too bad it too drowns and disappears in this forgettable mess.

My expectations going into this movie were pretty low, to be honest, so with that in mind, I was pretty entertained. I really enjoyed the mixing of humor with the popcorn horror genre.

A disgraced podcaster and a crazy farmer hunt a monster in what turns out to be a nice movie about a couple of oddballs that develop a friendship. Ben Hall as Don is the main reason to watch this. His portayal of the lonely but goofy farmer is great. Jasper Hammer as Allen the famous podcaster is convincingly played. There are a couple of real surprises that occur that change the direction and mood of the story. The less-is-more approach in regards to the monster doesn't work here at all and is just an excuse to get the main characters together. It seems likely that the lack of seeing the monster was probably budgetary, but the filmmakers could have done a little more to make the beast a threat. The fun here is the pairing of Don and Allen and that's about it.

A comedy horror creature feature. I loved that it's filled with neon lights throughout. Our two main characters are comedic, especially together and I had a few great laughs. Be mindful that it takes 1h12min before we get to see the creature but there's other plot elements that come into play for the rest of the runtime that are entertaining and surprising. I have to praise it for going a different route than anticipated it wasn't just a creature feature but I definitely would of wanted way more of the creature. *Rented on YouTube*
