'Aloevera' has a great concept and lovely set design, I just don't believe there is enough to it to justify a feature-length flick; its got short film written all over it. Aaron Adatsi and Alexandra Ayirebi-Acquah are decent leads, Kofi Adjorlolo and Benjamin Adaletey are well cast too. As noted, the idea (and commentary) is good and visually the movie does look the part. However, the plot very quickly becomes repetitive and slow paced, it does end fairly solidly but not to the point that it makes all that preceded it watchable. It is pleasant to look at though, Wes Anderson-esque.

My first Ghallywood movie. Romeo 'amp; Juliet set in Ghana, minus the melodrama and the tragedy. A lighhearted feelgood comedy, with a simple storyline and a predictable outcome. The script is a bit childish and naive at times, but it is funny and lighthearted. I liked the yellow and blue sets, clothes and everyday objects. If you're feeling blue or yellow, this is a good way to spend 106 minutes and end the day with a smile.
