Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - Comments & Tips

This was kind of a mess. The main problem with the movie is that it has some really great ideas and the potential to be a great movie/sequel but it wastes too much time focusing on plot points and things that aren’t very interesting and all the really great ideas and plot points that are set up feel completely rushed to very unsatisfying resolutions. Michael Keaton is easily the best part of the movie and he steals every scene he’s in. Catharine O’Hara is also always great and I’m glad she gets plenty of screen time. The set design and practical effects make this worth seeing on the big screen but there’s just not enough of it. Overall this was kind of disappointing.

Great, loved it. May have enjoyed it more than the original.

This was a lot of fun, but a lot of it felt excruciatingly pointless.

First thought: yeah, Keaton and Winona. Awesome. Second thought: Ortega. Meh. Not getting the hype around her.

Can I be honest and vulnerable? I'm getting tired of Jenna Ortega playing rude teenagers who think they're better than everyone else and so smart, edgy, dark, unique, and not like other girls.

That’s how you double down on a classic, honor it, but give it new life and vibes in a new era. Bravo. 2. Catherine O’Hara continues to be an absolute scene-stealing queen. 3. Michael Keaton DIDN’T MISS A FRICKIN’ BEAT. Still Beetlejuice through and through. Bonus Thought: Winona Ryder is such a treasure. To see her back as Lydia makes my soul so happy.

I enjoyed this quite a bit. Big fan of the original so I think it'll mostly be a hit for those of us with longer leashes for the outright silliness of this franchise. Could have used more Bellucci. Somewhat less accessible for my friends with photosensitivity. Lots of flashing lights in this one. Be warned. I did a lot of squinting. Still, a triumphant return. 7.4

what a horrible movie ! I did not like it at all.

Bored to death. I am not smiling, I am not laughing, I am not crying, I am not intrigued, I am not scared, I am not pumped. I felt void watching this movie. I'm wondering why people put so much effort into creating such a movie. Maybe I'm the wrong audience.
