With reviews like “anti-entertaining”, I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised! Granted it isn’t anything new but it’s run-of-the-mill fare done well. Supremely watchable. Ties into the larger DCEU including Peacemaker in believable fashion. The only part I was sad about was the death of a very interesting character so soon after their introduction. Hope they are brought back in some form later.

Just coming out of the Madrid premiere. Mmm… I really wanted to like it, but I’m afraid it’s messy at times and many lines are cringeworthy. There’s way too much exposition in the first act. It’s supposed to be brutal but they make the constant joke that Adam kills indiscriminately and in the end the joke gets kinda tiring. But it’s true that Dwayne Johnson was born to play Black Adam. My favorite was Doctor Fate and even Hawkman, despite his obnoxious black and white view of heroes and villains. I don’t even know why he’s the leader of the JSA. But his wings are something else! Cyclone and Atom Smasher… a bit forgettable. The post credit scene… it’ll make everything worthwhile.

I don't get it - it seems written by a teenager just to be a collection of one liners, explanatory scenes and speeches for even the slowest viewers, wannabe cool moments, explosions, unnecessary destruction, overuse of CGI and characters who are there just as plot fillers: the overly-enthusiastic-always-chatty-annoying teenager whose only point is to act carelessly and bring the story forward, the nice and nerdy brother, the smart doctor, the flirty youngsters... I don't watch these kind of movies for subtleties and I take into account a fair amount of suspension of disbelief but this was just uninspired stuff, half of which is fights and chases dragged and dragged and dragged, all caused by people seeing the world in black and white just for the sake of reaching the 2 screen hours milestone (you know like people making dumb decisions in horror movies). The Suicide Squad had the usual DC elements in an original and captivating mixture. This is a generic blockbuster, in the worst meaning of the word

It certainly delivers on the action pretty much the whole runtime is non-stop over the top action. It's a lot of stupid fun but if you're looking for something logic and compelling this is not your movie. The dialogue is often cringe and the overuse of slow-motion sequences can be off putting. In all honesty, I was anticipating the same old rubbish. Neither the teaser nor the people involved left me feeling optimistic. I enjoyed the action mainly sometimes the shotty CGI took me out of it. Very surprised that a triple A title in this age would have subpar CGI at times. The story was ok, but most of the dialog was poorly written. Especially with 5he scenes the boy was in. On the tech side the video is crispy clear. More
