Was she having visions or was she really in danger? or should we even care? The movie doesn't care to tell, why should we care? Terrible movie where the ambiguous ending destroys the whole film.
I''m fairly certain that Rowan was suffering from schizophrenia (paranoid delusions, auditory hallucinations, blunted affect, alogia, losing time etc.). Sleep paralysis, hypnopompic hallucinations, and self-harm are also quite common amongst people who suffer from schizophrenia.
