Is this where I can admit that this is my favorite post-Cold War spy movie, and is maybe my favorite spy movie period? I know it's not for everyone, but some stuff about it just hit all the notes I want from a big sprawling one of these.

"Clear and Present Danger" is a thrilling action film from 1994. It's packed with suspense, intrigue, and great performances. If you're a fan of political thrillers, this one is definitely worth watching.

_Clear and Present Danger_ is a typical Tom Clancy film that delivers all the action, intrigue, and political drama that fans of the genre have come to expect. Harrison Ford's performance is a great, bringing depth and nuance to the role of Jack Ryan. All in all, if you're a fan of the Tom Clancy universe or just enjoy a good political thriller, _Clear and Present Danger_ is definitely worth a watch.

So many changes from the book. Some unnecessary. I think the contract between Tom Clancy and the movie studio was something like, "Sell us the names of the characters in your book and we will use 28% of your story to make a movie". If there is one person in the world who has read a Tom Clancy novel and then thought, "Who should they cast as John Clark?" - a larger powerful ex-Navy SEAL and then came up with Willem Dafoe- well they're on drugs. No pun intended with this movie.
