Sincere, Profound, Powerful Coming from Odisha, DAMan is an earnest and unprejudiced piece of cinema that not only highlights a true story but does it with true diligence. With a budget of just merely 95 Lakhs and a location as remote as Malkangiri District, the makers have created a fantastic and inspiring cinema that the people of the Odia Community are proud of. With beautifully shot natural locations, and humble and honest performances by an amazing ensemble cast led by Babushaan it also has pretty soulful tracks to enhance the experience. Daman is a true winner in terms of honest filmmaking which is powered by real, authentic stories which highlight our rooted cultures and present Indian diversities with purity. Babushaan Mohanty as the lead has done a tremendous job in getting into a responsible and different character unlike other of his past performances. The show stealer is definitely Dipanwit Das Mohapatra as Ravi, who is just so natural on screen. He handles most of the impactful scenes and subtle humor with brilliance. The entire ensemble village casting is done so well and almost everyone delivers beautifully. Overall, Daman is no masterpiece or a film you can't miss. It is more of a cinema that celebrates the true human spirit, with sincerely presented emotions. The film is rocking at the box office and I am personally proud to support this film.
