Death Does Not Exist - Comments & Tips
Like holding mass in a coffee shop: preaching in poetry is still preaching and makes the message all that more dubious. A woman is part of a violent protest at a rich old folks home but then things get weird... and maybe capitalism apologist? [Cannes '25] A story about radicalism, with its contradictions, represented in a film with political components regarding class imbalances. The ideological and philosophical proposals can be somewhat simplistic, or at least they don't seem too profound or very different from those of any progressive discourse. But although it sometimes seems a bit vague and superficial in its approach, it is a visually attractive proposal that takes risks by incorporating political and social themes against an ethereal backdrop of fatalism.
