"Death Valley" (2021) delivers a surprisingly effective creature feature experience that punches above its weight. While clearly working with limited resources, the filmmakers manage to evoke a strong "Aliens" vibe with a cool, shadowy monster design that feels impressively realized. The smart choice to keep the creature mostly in the dark amplifies the tension and proves that sometimes, less is truly more in the realm of low-budget horror.

The show was just eh, the typical alien kinda movie with a predictable plot. They seem to try really hard in giving Marshall "funny" lines but they kinda overdo it that it gets a lil cringey imo. The aliens aren't even scary and seems pretty stupid since they only follow sounds but not only that, they also move kinda slow and their kills don't even look horrifying. [spoiler] Strangely, Adam seems to understand english when Marshall threatened to kill his gf off so yea, the humor in the show plus the un-horrifying kills just doesn't help make this show any better. [/spoiler] Wouldn't really recommend this show.

Decent action horror film about a rescue team who's sent on a mission to help an imprisoned scientist in a secret research facility. The mission goes sideways and they find themselves hunted down by a terrifying creature of unknown origin. The film borrows a few elements from other films, leaning more towards action than horror and it clearly doesn't try to reinvent the wheel but it has good production value, fun setting, and cool practical effects to get you invested. As far as plots go, it's pretty straightforward. What bothers me is the creature shows up way too early. Also I feel like everything's happening too fast that you don't have enough time to get to know the characters more. At times the film doesn't make good amount of sense and some areas needed more tension. Those problems aside, it hits some notes successfully and I still enjoyed it for the most part.
